Nuno was a victim of circumstance - clear and obvious from the outset that he was way down the list of targets, if he was even on the list at all - from that point he was a dead man walking.
I suspect the next manager will also be a bit of a 'Nuno' type choice. I doubt Postecoglou himself was amongst our top choices.

We've got a poor fan base so I don't expect the next man to last long either.

A section of spurs fans like all football fans can take things too far I agree

In the case of Ange, I think he has been treated pretty well and got off for the most part Scot Free for what is a complete shambles.

Blaming the fans at an away game after yet another defeat for being exasperated at a manager who is clearly out of his depth is very strange.

It’s a get out clause to blame the fans for this joke of a manager
I was there last night and it was toxic mate. Pretty much every other set of fans in the league gets behind their team, a big portion of our fans just get on the players or managers back. Our travelling support mostly consists of the same coked up idiots every game due to the loyalty point scheme. It is often notably different (better) in away Cup games when we get a bigger allocation or the game isn't a particularly attractive one.

FFS. Can people read?

I’m talking about the effect these things have on Spurs. Confidence is already rock bottom. The players look brick scared to make any passes. Who can blame them? They know they’re not far away from the ridicule themselves.

That is not going to help us win games. That is not going to help us win the Europa League. That is all I fudging care about. Not Ange Postecoglou’s pride or personal feelings. I want Spurs to win.
I didn't say anything about you defending Ange. I was simply saying that calling someone far and saying doesn't know what they are doing are quite different things and you were comparing them.

On the matter of whether it helps the team or not, really only the players know but let's be real all the cheering and backing that Ange has had from the fans in the earlier part of the season made no appreciable difference to the results or performances.

Sure players may feed off the fans but likewise the fans feed off the performances. Its not about fans showing undying and unconditional support without a reciprocal set of results or performances.

Sure, Conte pretty much eviscerated the club, which is going to hurt because it was an accurate assesment, but at least he never stooped to petty squabbling with the fans (from what I can recall).

Ideally everyone would be lovely and only the people who exhibited the bestest, fluffiest behaviour would get rewards. Life's not that way so if you're going to act a clam, it's more palatable if you have the record to back it up.

If it makes me a brick fan then fair enough, but as I'm almost skint until payday, for some reason I didn't fancy watching us lose against Chelsea whilst paying over a tenner for 2 beers, I don't regret the decision. It's the first time I really feel a strong disconnect with the team, it's all a bit hopeless and the tired excuses have washed away.

In summary, I'm fully in the Ange out camp, but would still remain as disengaged if Mason took over.
Conte had Spurs in 4th place when he departed. In fact Spurs had won the 4th most points in the PL from the point that he arrived until the point that he departed around 18 months later. Now don't get me wrong our fans are pretty crap but I don't think we're that crap that we'd be spitting vitroil at a manager that has us in the top 4!

I don’t agree with the fan chanting but, yes, on the face of it, the decision was baffling. Bergvall was one of our better players and he got hooked while lads who were playing poorly stayed on. The fact that afterwards Ange didn’t say the sub was pre planned or attribute it to illness indicates to me that the fans were right to be baffled.

Chants like that, rightly or wrongly, are an occupational hazard in football. You may not care that other fan bases do it too but the point is that it’s a very human reaction to the sort of frustration Ange is generating. It’s not specific to Spurs fans like you insinuate.

What is unique here is the manager’s reaction. I’ve never seen a manager react like that before that I can recall. In my opinion it was petty, small time and unprofessional. That he, in my opinion, lied about his reaction afterwards just compounded the situation.
Not sure if I'm in the minority on here from my vantage point at the game last night I thought that Sarr was better in the period he was on the pitch than Bergwal was in the period he was on the pitch last night.

How on earth does a no-mark like Munn end up running football operations for THFC anyway? His jump to THFC was an even bigger jump than Ange's coming from the Scottish league.

Not sure about that. He was in charge of city group asia market.

He's not a dof. He's a businessman. Connections in the asian market, sponsorship etc... and their clubs in those countries.

Does that mean he'll make the right choice in coach for the first team? Doesn't seem so. But he wasn't hired just for that.

As i've said previously. I'd like a whole new fresh start. New owners. New board. New coaching staff and new dof. But i can understand why munn was hired.

Yes I am fine. It is a journey. I see it in every aspect of life. There is the struggle and there is the success.
I'm intrigued to know what you see that makes you feel there will be success? I've had semi similar positive views of Ange's tenure until really the start of this season and the realization on my part that he just appears to have the adaptability to really succeed. But sorry back to you, what is it you've seen that keeps you in his fold?

Have you been to other teams away games when they are performing way below expectations?

People are people on the whole. West ham, arsenal, chelsea crystal palace etc... most support their club because they are local, their family supported them or they are glory hunters. They are not born differently (maybe the glory hunters).

levy was so quick to get rid of proven managers, what's taking him so long with ange? does he think ange will help us win europa with the football we are playing?

another point to support the idea that levy isn't a football man
Struggling to find anybody else to take over I expect.... The scenario previously where we went the end of the season with a caretaker and then took all summer to appoint somebody who was probably 10th choice isn't one the club will want to repeat. I suspect the club will want to line up the next manager before sacking Ange and will only be able to line somebody up properly in the summer.

Sherwood was a good manager. Did very well at Spurs turning it around after the poor manager that came before him and introduced a few young players that Pochettino then made part of his first team.

He was a terrible manager, as proven in other jobs, and the team was in total disarray by the time he left. Much credit to Poch for sorting that out and getting rid of all the toxicity.

I'm not sure on the Ange, Celtic fan at work won a fair bit on betting on him being the next manager at Spurs, apparently it was well known up there he was off weeks before.

All rumour and speculation of course.

It really does all merge into one mess, so I am happy to be corrected , wasn't there chants for mopo under conte?

Lol - Asia Market.... He must've been running a HUGE budget eh?

And to think that many of us on here laughed at Postecoglou coming from Scotland thinking that was too big a step up!

It is like Goldman Sachs appointing me as their new CEO.

I've been to a huge majority of the home games at Spurs and feel the away team gets better support than ours does.

How much of our sponsorship comes from yhe asian market? We have more supporters there than we do anywhere else in the world.
