*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Leicester City ***

I Have no confidence with a cb pairing of dragusin . if we get a draw without injury, it will feel like a win to me

That squad - players in there played on Thursday. Leicester should have more energy. This will be a tight one.
And a whole week to prepare for us too. But of course it should be a walkover

I'm expecting a tight game, but the positive if it is will be more minutes for more to excel in and perhaps Yang too. Maybe some youthful exuberance to see us over the line....

Would have liked to see Porro given a rest, as I worry he’ll be next to break. An element of ‘needs must’, of course…but Spence? Injured? Illness?

What's wrong with Spence? I assumed he was just missing the last game due to not being available for Europe....

Picked up a knock in the last game he played and has felt sore the past week. Or something along those lines.

Ange mentioned it a few days ago

I reckon if Udogie was fit, we'd be seeing a continuation of the Dragusin-Gray partnership. The fingers point at Dragusin, but I've never seen a single partnership with Davies in it that looked steady. He is not easy to play with and doesn't even understand yet how to play the defensive lines that Ange insists on. Caught dropping in multiple times on Thursday when the others were holding the Ange defensive line.

Personally, I could easily scrap the entire defensive line thing. It was why I was fishing the other day about Iraola. Is he achieving the high press model but without the defensive kamikaziness we see? Lowest paid manager, cheapest squad in the league and their goals for is 4 worse than us but their goals against is 9 better. That's benchmarked to a period when we're been in crisis mode, but still. It gets you thinking.

Davies...

I've noticed this too, Davies is often a yard behind the line, ready to cover for his colleagues if they get breached. He even ducks behind the keeper to clear off the line if the keeper is beaten. Sometimes this is epic and he saves the day, sometimes it plays players onside and causes chaos.
Very noticeably when Dominic Calvert Lewin twisted Gray in knots, Davies was over-covering i.e. he thought Gray was beaten, so he came across to the right of Gray, then DCL cut back into the open space to score. If Davies had stayed to the left of Gray and trusted Gray, DCL would have run straight into Davies.

Would have been nice to see a LB playing at LB (i.e Reguillon) and letting Gray loose in Midfield. Square pegs in square holes and all that...

We talk about who are the extrerme red zoners in the pack right now based on January mins - Kulu, Porro, Dragu, Gray. To a certain extent Sonny because of age as well.

Ange had the choice today to play a guy like Reggie today and bring them out of the red. He declined it. However, he didn't really have much choice on Kulu and Sonny unfortunately. I know some would build a case for Moore or Yang, but would you tell Sonny that's he's sitting this one our after what he did on Thurs? Not sure I would.

It's not a major criticism. It's is Davies's sub-conscious smarts telling him what to do. I reckon I might to the same thing. Offsides are great for full-backs as they look across the line. Much harder for centre halves.

Just throwing out the subs into the thread, as it's always good to ponder changes

On the warmup show they are saying perhaps Davies should not give another 100 minutes so soon after Thurs, so perhaps Gray will move inside and Reggie comes on

I'm thinking Porro/Drags/Gray are completely exhausted and must be odds on to get injured soon. Bare bones lads!

Moore

Yang
