Wot no shin pads- Is that thing now or our medical teams latest advice?
Saw a player recently socks so low, rugby style, I assumed he had no shin pads. He got suibbed a man pulled out pads that were like 2 inches high!

Fine are the days when they were thick, up to your knees with elastic to keep them in place and padding to protect your ankles

It's been a thing for quite a few years now e.g. https://gaintheedgeofficial.com/products/mini-shin-pads

What possible advantage can absurdly small shin pads give you?

I like the grippy socks though - I certainly see value in that.

You're not allowed to run your studs down someone's shin instead of shaking hands anymore, so they really do only need those tiny little things - although not sure they'd do much to protect anything

Great to see another one of the kids get that first appearance for the club. He gave us what we needed most and that was fresh legs.

There was a popular company online and Facebook that was selling a load of those small shin pads to youngsters and it was in news because a player had a serious injury while wearing them. After some pressure they agreed that on reflection they agreed they were not safe enough and would remove them from their store immediately.

You can use a couple of tictac boxes if you forget your pads.

TTP's air pocket technology absorbs impact and, in the unfortunate event of a hard impact, releases a refreshing menthol scent to comfort you in your time of need.
