8th will get you into the Conference League should City win tonight and a top 7 team wins the FA Cup.

If yes, how would you approach the competition?

If no, what’s your reason?

I am baffled... Not seeing anyone asking if we want to be in the League Cup... who wouldn't want to be in any competition they can be a part of???

Doesn't mean we would field a first 11 for most of the games, especially in the league phase... but it would be a fantastic opportunity for the likes of Mickey, Vukovic and the strikers we have signed this January....

The only reason Kane broke through our team was because he was banging in the goals in the Europa League and as a result forced a previously hesitant Pochettino to give him a chance

Spurs belong in Europe (part of my massive current frustration with manager and owner)

If somehow (laughing with GB) we manged it, we need to do two things
- Play it to win it, the club needs to get out of the participating in competitions, go try to win it
- Have a real plan for youth development, e.g. Gray, Bergvall, Odobert, Tel, LWB, Vuskovic could be the core of the team
- Leverage it for getting the long term injuries back to speed (maybe Maddison and Deki) vs. risking them in PL, and having them earn back their spots

Hard to express the frustration that with a 7 point gap, and 14 games to go, the club has forfeited on even trying

Looking at the league, all we need is a bit of decent form and we could be right back up challenging for the top 8.

If you look at who Palace played in their 8 games.

Fredrickstad - Norwigean Cup Winners
Dynamo Kiev - Ukranian League Winners
AEK Larnaca - Cypriot 3rd place
AZ Alkmar - Dutch 5th place
Strasbourg - French 7th place
Shelbourne Rovers - Irish 3rd place
KuPs - Finnish Cup Winners

No reason why a squad comprised of. Kinsky, Austin, Souza, Phillips, Takei, Vuskovic, Byfield, Abbot, Gray, Bergvall, Olusesi, Devine, Donely, W.Barnett, Thompson, Moore, Tel, Lankshear, Melia, Wilson with the odd 1st team player sprinkled in for fitness would not make it to the knockouts.

You then do an assessment and send some of them out on loan and bring in more regulars to try and win the competition in the second half of the season.

Of course - standard isn't high but it will allow us to give game time to the youngsters/squad players and if we take it seriously in the latter stages it becomes a good chance of adding another trophy, similar to last season.

An argument to be made that we'd have benefited as a team more through being in either of the secondary European competitions this season rather than the CL where we have had to play a strong side throughout.

Poch first started assembling the golden era team in the EL in autumn 2014. Playing the kids, while the old hands toiled in the league. Then he started swapping the two sides around over the winter. Maybe history could repeat itself next autumn?
