Having it between the 3rd and 4th round would have been better. Find a way to have the league cup done before xmas.
 
That's what Spurs did a couple of years ago wasn't it? Raced off to the sun to play some friendly and raced back...

It may seem a chore to us, but it’s a pressure free game, relaxed training regime, bit of a laugh with your mates, however much money the club make from it it’s still a holiday.

They won’t be flying coach and it gets them away from cold weather and family commitments.

Of course they will. They will call them warm-weather training sessions, which just coincidentally involve a lucrative friendly fixture.

The clubs have 25 men squads. There is nothing to stop them giving each player a 2-3 week break during the season. If the players get tired through too much football it is down to bad management.
 
Can we have a winter break too? Scara can use the Google ad revenue to put us all up in a 5 star hotel somewhere warm, with good enough wi-fi so we can still spend all our time logging in here to post brick, like this.

I don't see the problem with the friendly (other than the optics of playing during the break) - they are not on holidays but will be training during it, a friendly is a pointless training match.

Your second point I don't disagree with you but the argument for the break has been won.
 
Winter break now confirmed for February in the 19/20 season. FA cup fifth round to be played midweek and not have replays. One round of PL games will be split across two weekends.
