Will Lankshear

I watched Lankshear earlier; it was a frustrating game for him, as Ipswich are much better than Oxford, so Will was working off scraps.
A couple of times he didn't receive the ball when in front of goal, his team mates doing the wrong thing.
I do like him, he knows how to score and gets in the right places a lot.

I'm not going to pretend to know as much about him and other younger players compared to you and others, but from the bits I have seen and read of all the young strikers we have he looks to be the most likely to make it here to me.

He has that knack you can't really teach of being in the right place to score goals, and physically I think he would be able to cope. Maybe one more loan to a better standard Championship club, then perhaps he could be in the conversation for a squad place...

When I first saw him I thought he's just a big boy who will get by because he was stronger than most, he got injured as soon as he joined (what a surprise). When he returned he looked sharper and after a few games it was noticeably he was nearly always where the ball was in the box. I've not seen him since he went on loan and playing regularly against men, he's not a player who catches the eye, wasn't quick over a distance or tricky but used his strength and quick reactions to get space, his outstanding ability is his instinct for being in the right place, its something you can't teach. I've said it for ages he will score goals, I think the only thing that will stop him being a big player is the lack of courage in club managers who wont give him the chance and time he needs.

Hopefully Donley will help with this.
