Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

Maybe he'll go there now but given the expecations of a top 4 finish, there's got to be a good chance that he'll be out next summer.

This might also accelerate a Redknapp departure if the rumours are true

Who would you like to come and replace Arry if he leaves?

First choice - Rodgers. He isnt a Liverpool man yet!

Outside of him I would like somoene like Ancelotti if we went for a more established manager (possibly available?)

If we went for a young pretender Im not sure. Martinez is the man of the moment and has a lot going for him (though questions as well in my mind), AVB is the most obvious candidate and IMO EXACTLY the sort Levy would want (though again some question marks)

Of the two AVB for me, though tentatively in some respects.

Not interested in Moyes and ONeil and the like.

Why? Gerrard is on his way out - it wont be long before we are able to play a TEAM instead of a collection of show ponies

is it the show ponies, or the managers who couldnt get the best out of multiple Premier League winners, and Champions League winners:-k

wow, then English football is seriously fcuked for the the coming years ahead

Pretty much. We have an absolute dearth of technical ability coming through at the moment compared to our peers and until the FA has a massive top to bottom shake up and gets to developing a semblance of a strategy from youth through to England XI we'll continue to struggle against all of these other nations that do already. Or are we still kidding ourselves that Germany and Spain are spitting out international class footballers like a lady boy popping ping pong balls by complete coincidence?

The vote that went through yesterday is a start, at least.

Yeah, defo Spursalot. That will do a massive amount to help promote technical ability within our youth, instead of brawn. But it needs to be followed up with a plan to generate literally thousands more youth coaches if we want to catch up with Germany and then the FA to make some sort of projection on how they want "Team England" to develop and play. But that is certainly the right place to start.

Personally I think the whole Liverpool situation is laughable. How can any Liverpool fan, demanding a Top 4 finish no less, be happy at such dire appointments? Both Martinez and Rogers have had a couple of decent seasons, but that's only the case when you see they've just about avoided relegation with brick teams or had a good first season in the Premiership (which shockingly, is not uncommon); for me it's like saying Chris Hughton should be the new Chelsea manager, simply because he got Saudi Sportswashing Machine promoted and then to 8th the subsequent season.

Villas-Boas is the man for the job. No question about it. Any imbecile saying Rogers or Martinez are better options have no understanding of football, in fact, they're probably the same people who supported KKK's atrocious reign purely because he was an Anfield legend, won a cup and got to the final of the FA Cup, forgetting the fact that he was tactically departed, bought average players at premium prices, and was diabolical in the league. Rafael Benitez? He won a Champions League, yes, but he also bought the bricky players that took Liverpool out of contention for the title and created the slide the club is dealing with today. Should he be boss when he couldn't even maintain the success Mourinho put in place at Inter? No. The man couldn't even keep Inter in contention for the title after about 15 games.

Give it to Van Gaal, if not Villas-Boas. He's the only man in the frame who wants the job and is of some stature. The others don't deserve the chance so early.

Rodgers to 'pool and maybe Guardiola to Chelsea; the future-trains are indeed leaving the station, and we'll keep going with our coal-driven really old-school one...

you give it large with all that and then suggest AVB????:) One year wonder with Porto, alienated plenty at Chelsea in just over 6 months....AVB???

You are forgetting that Liverpool fans can't think logically. They worship Dalglish and many think he should have been given more time. Hardly anyone wants Martinez or Rodgers. Their preferences are probably something like this:

Rafa
Guardiola
Mourinho
Rafa
Capello
Hiddink
Rafa
Van Gaal

and so on.

Brendan Rodgers has signed a three-year contract to become the new manager of Liverpool Football Club, confirms @BenSmithBBC

Liverpool will pay ?ú4m-?ú5m in compensation to secure Brendan Rodgers' services, with official confirmation expected in next 24 hours

Bit gutted. Would have liked him to prove himself for another year at Swansea and then potentially come to us.
Good to see a promising up and coming manager get a big opportunity like this. Fear for him a bit though.
