Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

I find it funny that we're all in agreement that this is bad news - Liverpool fans because they think he was brilliant, and us because we think he was brick. Liverpool fans are so deluded.

They genuinely believe Benitez is the only answer. Its crazy how most clubs wouldn't go near him with a barge pole now yet Liverpool fans see him as the only replacement. Different planet

Liverpool fans love living in the past

Crap ... they might go for Rodgers :(

id say he is the perfect fit for them, he would have them playing the style of football they were used to in the 70's and 80's, possession, possession, possession

Rodgers or Martinez. Or, however stupid this may sound, I think Mourinho is a very possible candidate. Sunday was a very big advert for our league, and I'm sure he'd love to return to a club with tonnes of potential and money with such a massive challenge. Don't write Mourinho off

The club is effectively in limbo now.
No Manager, No Director of Football, they dont even have a media guy to spin it anymore, they sacked him too.
When Commoli was sacked 5 weeks ago, they said they did it then so they could get someone else in quick.
I've a feeling Liverpool could be sitting without a manager for the next month too.

Kind of rules out Liverpool then? Unless FSG have Emirates Marketing Project style $$$'s to throw around.

Where did you get the idea that Liverpool have money?
Henry and Werner aren't gonna bankroll the club in the same way Chelsea and City are. They're there to sell the club on for a profit in the future.

Not a chance in hell Mourinho would go there.

I agree Rodgers would be a good fit but I can see them going for Capello.

Ofcourse they have money, did you miss the previous 3 transfer windows? The Red Sox and Liverpool have one of the highest wage bills in their respective sports, funnily enough both still suck.

Not neccessarily a bad thing, could be regarded as a chance to "start over". The problem is the quality of their midfielders, Henderson, Kuyt, Spearing, Maxi, Downing and Adam are simply not good enough if they want to compete with the best. They've messed up badly the last couple of seasons, but there are still some players to build a solid team around left.

The return of Benitez, I'd think.

Shame really. Its hard to see how they could get much worse manager in, unless they appointed Curbishley, McLeish etc

Hopefully they'll go for someone like MON

Benitez will want a big budget and although FSG will provide funds, they wont be anywhere near what they have been recently spending

Absolutely gutted it looks like they're going to pinch Martinez. I think he'll do really well at a big club and it's a shame it's not us imo.

I'm 5 pages into that Dalglish thread on Red and White Kop and finally someone who seems to be speaking sense:

I'm glad.

He is a legend, but his performances were just not upto the mark and he wasn't good enough this time around on his return.

Thanks for everything Kenny, you shall forever remain our king for all that you have given us..

But for this spell, sorry you weren't good enough and I'm delighted he is gone. Poor in the transfer market, made Anfield a joke for visiting sides, and tinkle poor league finish, good riddance.

Let's get someone in who is in the know how of the modern game and is good enough to take us to challenge for the league.

Glad to part ways before things became worse as it would be said to see Kenny go out in a worse situation where has has already guided us

That said, if we sacked Hoddle in his first season, after finishing 9th and winning the League Cup and reaching the FA Cup final (which we weren't far off on)... I think I would have gone apoplectic. And I probably wouldn't have been alone. Even if we'd sacked him that summer full stop, it wouldn't have been a popular decision. That said again, we'd been in the doldrums for years. Liverpool have had some recent success. He was so obviously failing and I think key point is: there is little to suggest he could turn it around in a serious way.
