Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

125,000 try to sue !!!

More than 1,700 Liverpool fans who claim they were injured or left with psychological trauma at the chaotic Champions League Final are to sue Uefa, lawyers have said.

European football's governing body is facing group actions over the final against Real Madrid in Paris.

Uefa delayed kick-off by 35 minutes, citing "security issues".

Liverpool law firm Bingham's said clients had spoken of "terrifying scenes" at the Stade de France.

Bingham's has teamed up with global law company Pogust Goodhead in a lawsuit for 1,450 clients alleging negligence.

Lawyers said they would sue Uefa for breach of contract in ticket sales and negligence over a duty of care they had towards supporters, who were harmed physically and psychologically.

Many Reds supporters spoke of long queues in the hours leading up to the game and a heavy-handed police response to the build-up of fans.

'Harrowing experiences'
Gerard Long from Binghams said: "As a life-long Liverpool fan, I was absolutely horrified when I heard how events unfolded at what should have been the highlight of the football season.

"Not only fellow fans, but my friends, family and clients who were in attendance that day have spoken of the terrifying scenes that surrounded the Stade de France before, and even after, the game."

Another law firm, Leigh Day, is also bringing actions. It said it believed Uefa "failed to provide a safe and secure environment" for fans.

Consumer and travel law experts Clare Campbell and Jill Paterson, who are leading Leigh Day's action, said: "It was truly shocking to see how Liverpool fans and others who had travelled to watch the Champions League final were treated both at the match and in the aftermath.

"The accounts of their experiences paint a picture of a terrifying situation where people really feared for their lives."

Leigh Day, which has offices in Liverpool, is representing 400 clients.

Liverpool FC has gathered 8,500 testimonies from supporters on their experiences that day to submit to an independent review, commissioned by Uefa.

Club chief executive Billy Hogan said they "suffered harrowing experiences".

Uefa previously apologised to Liverpool and Real Madrid fans caught up in the events around the final and said it must not happen again.

Uefa has been approached for comment.

Wait till they ask for the tickets

I was extremely upset watching the incident on tv and have had trouble sleeping. I have this recurring dream where I'm attacked by French police when I queuing to pay at Sainsburys. Can I join this claim?

No because you shop at Sainsbury’s
And loyal scouser would shop at Scab and Co or the Robstop shop

Only saw the second half yesterday but looked like someone forgot the inhalers. The lack of pressing was striking.

I couldn’t get over, last season, at 2-0 up at 80 minutes against Villarreal, they pressed the life out of the opposition. Hunted in packs of 3 at a time at breakneck speed.

Yesterday at 3-2 down, they barely pressed. I hope City murder them at the weekend.

I'm generally very sceptical of conspiracy theories, but it's very odd how Liverpool look so very different from last season in that aspect. You'd expect a dip in form at some point the way they've been playing for the past 3-4-5 seasons, but this looks more like a collapse than a dip. Which makes you wonder what has happened.

I'm usually sceptical of this stuff too but want to believe this because it's Liverpool and I can't stomach them so I'm blinded by my bias.

There was an article online from early on the year after they won the league, when they were near the top of the table, that said "wherever you put your money for the league, don't put it on Liverpool. They've been using PEDs and the body can only take that for so long before they have to take time off them. This season Liverpool won't win the league and they'll get a bunch of injuries". Lo and behold, after Christmas it all fell apart amid an injury crisis and they scraped CL football.

Last season they went full pelt for the season. Now they're back to looking fatigued. So there is a lot of smoke but you'd have to imagine if amateur internet sleuths like me could pick up on it, the authorities and other clubs would be all over it (although Conte did make what seemed like a veiled reference to it last season).

There is also the possibility that what happened to Poch here is now happening to them and Klopp has pushed them too hard for too long and the squad hasn't been adequately refreshed.

Long may the decline continue either way.

Just read FA are looking into incident between Henerson and Gabriel (cb) at end of game, apparently a lip reader is being used to see what was said.

it's almost like there might actually be some drug testing half way through the season...
