I’ve genuinely heard a Liverpool fan argue that as “Bobby’s” had an offside go against him from his armpit then this is handball... they have no concept of how the ball hits the player and how that affected the handball (or lack of)

Saw the clip of Dermot Gallagher trying to explain why 5 tackles that all looked the same were different outcomes ultimately based on what VAR had given at weekend. Was ridiculous

It's that balance of over emotional pundits and that jobsworth ex ref who has to say with a straight face that someone's pointing hand or protruding member makes them offside or some flimflam..
Referees are still a very protected species, not being mike'd up during the game and not being held to account for any fudge ups post game either.
