You know how this works by now. Have a chat for a day and I'll add a poll tomorrow.

Rage Against the Machine is the debut studio album by American rap metal band Rage Against the Machine.[1] The album was released on November 3, 1992. It went to #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, and #45 on the Billboard 200 chart.

"Know Your Enemy" features Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan on "additional vocals", and also features Jane's Addiction drummerStephen Perkins on trashcan percussion. Keenan has been known on occasion to appear onstage with the band to perform the song. The album cover features the self-immolation of Thích Quảng Đức that occurred on June 11, 1963.

This time the bullet cold rocked ya
A yellow ribbon instead of a swastika
Nothing proper about your propaganda
Fools follow rules when the set commands ya

Stood and watched as the feds cold centralized
So serene on the screen you were mesmerised
Cellular phones sounding a death tone
Corporations cold turn you to stone before you realise
They load the clip in omnicolour
Said they pack the 9, they fire it at the Prime Time
The sleeping gassed, every home was like Alcatraz
And motherfuc.kers lost their minds

Just victims of the in-house drive-by
They say jump, you say how high?

No escape from the mass mind *struggle cuddle*
Play it again Jack, and then rewind the tape
And then play it again and again and again, until ya mind is locked in

Believing all the lies that they're tellin' you
Buying all the products that they're sellin' you
They say jump, you say how high?
Are you brain dead, have you got a flipping bullet in your head?

The RATM lyrics get more anal and immature for every second passing. Cringe worthy. REM gets my vote.

As much as I love Rage, I class Automatic for the People as a definitive 90s album for me both personally and musically.

A classic.

I would Kevin keegan love it if a band as puny as rem knocked that angry excuse for music out of this tournament. It would be delightful.

Sorry @Bullet

I own both albums, but only one of them gets to come off the shelf. Rage all the way.

:D Exactly, in a head to head fight, surely the mighty RATM would smash Stipe right up the bucket.

The only reason RATM will lose is because of that sneaky snook Milo who gets everyone interested, then opens the poll for about 3 minutes when you're not looking. Milo, put be down for RATM please.

"And now I'm rolling down Rodeo with a shotgun
These people ain't seen a brown-skinned man
Since their grandparents bought one"

I like him but he's not a great guitar player really. Somewhat inventive but his technique is fairly basic.

Depends on if you're basing whether he's a great guitar player by measuring him up against a Satriani or Vai etc. In that case, guys like Slash are a pile of dogbrick (based on technique).

But going by feel, innovation and writing, Morello is one of the GOAT's in my opinion.

I'm just basing it on whether he has decent technique or not, not in comparison to anyone else. Slash is not too bad actually. He's a long way ahead of Morello in terms of chops if we are in comparison mode, though as you say not in the same league as Vai. Who is though?

The poll has been added and you've got 24 hours to vote ;)

In a head to head fight people would say that RATM are alright but they're one trick ponies whereas REM have tunes a plenty and have changed their sound throughout their time together.
