Amazing player. Was there at WHL 1962 when Benfica killed us in the European Cup SF.

Eusébio’s final wish was granted. His final Goodbye in the centre of pitch at Benfica’s Estádio da Luz stadium..

Great player, RIP.

Really good player who played with his heart and cried when he would be in a losing Portugal team. Is loved all over Portugal and by all fans for what he did for the national team.

Was living quite poor until the current chairman of Benfica have him an a ambassador role at the club.

Sad scenes today of people of all ages crying at his funeral.

Sad loss.

Great player from footage I've seen though way, way before my time.

RIP and great send off from the Benfica fans by the looks of it.

He played here in Toronto for two seasons, won one NASL title. He was getting gimpy and missed a lot of games. But when he was on, he lit the joint up. Very charismatic guy, too. Would always have a crowd waiting for him after games and took time to chat and sign autographs.

As suggested above, he surely wasn't rolling in dough. We walked with him after one game to a nearby subway station and rode in the carriage with him for a few stops. He waved goodbye to us before getting off. We were lucky to have him.
