OMT ** Tottenham Hotspur v AZ 13.03.2025 **

NLS

Michael Brown
Tottenham Hotspur v AZ Alkmaar on Thursday 13 March and kick off at 8pm...

Biggest game of the season and no match thread yet so here we go.....

This would be my team but doubt very much if Ange will do it...

Vicario

Spence Danso VDV Udogie

Porro (Gray or Bergvall) Sarr Son

Maddison

Solanke

I would also consider inserting hot pokers somewhere to ensure we get a bit of fight and energy....

COYS

Vicario; Spence, Romero, VDV, Udogie; Gray, Bergvall, Maddison; Tel, Solanke, Son.

Spence overlapping, allowing Tel to play closer to Solanke. Udogie inverted as usual.

Must win, must go through, simple as that.

Played 180 minutes against them so far this season and only have a penalty to show for our troubles - going to need a stark improvement to get through here
I know this is your favourite spin, but you could also say P2 W1 L1, and this was the starting XI that won:
  • F. Forster
  • D. Udogie
  • B. Davies
  • R. Drăgușin
  • A. Gray
  • J. Maddison (c),
  • R. Bentancur
  • L. Bergvall
  • T. Werner
  • Richarlison
  • M. Moore

Not sure anything needs to be spun to make the point we need to improve on our first two performances against them in order to progress through to the next round

I've got confidence that we will beat a team that is 6th in a league in which the team that is 2nd were beaten 1-7 at home by the Goons last week.

3-1 win for us.

If we turn up with effort and play like we want to progress. Then I'm confident.
If they turn up like they have done the previous 3 games then we go out

Wouldn’t say no to that team. Desperate to see Gray in CM as think his calm and positioning would help us a lot.

Front 4 are the weak link atm. Could be worth trying Tel on the right, without Kulu we def lack a spark.

  • Biggest game of the season.
  • Must win game.
  • A time to show that Spurs are ready to challenge.
  • Win to open/close the gap on xxxx
Phrases used all the time we need to do something, and 99.9% of the time we choke.

1-2 AZ

Prove me wrong ya b'stards and beat them 4-0 please.

Not wanting to get into a debate about fans behaviour at games, just wanted to say it would be lovely if the fans would generate one of those 'special' European night atmospheres, would really help the team I think....
Its so difficult when we are such a turgid team to watch. Even a flash of verve or quality might bring people on side
