Financial cost of relegation?

So I think with our form it is now a possibility.

Not going to debate about the manager, players or chairman. But was wondering what the cost would be if we go down.

Do the players have to accept a drop in wages, do our sponsorship deals go down. I assume ticket prices would rise to cover the cost of us going down. Though with 2 South Koreans we obviously now get twice as much money from Asia.

Would it hit as hard as Covid.

I don't think this thread is necessary until the end of Feb by which time we play four teams currently below us (including United!)

We could feasibly change the title to financial implications of sneaking top 4 by then...

There is no chance that we will be relegated. I respect you mate but come on, you’re jumping the gun a bit. We will clear 40 points by the end of April. It’s not been a fun season in most respects but it won’t go that dark either.
I don't think we will but I don't turst us to hold our nerve in up coming games against Everton, Leics, Brentford or Villa, I say that becuase two of them away crucially away. By the time we get to United we could be bang in trouble

No chance of top 4. Even if we get 40 points from our remaing 17 games (2.35 avg. per game), we only get to 64. Saudi Sportswashing Machine only need 26 more to get there. If we get anywhere near 60 points, I'd be delighted! Average 2 points per game from now, gives us 58. Hard to imagine a points haul like that, given our current form.

That said, i'm not even slightly worried about relegation.

It is not going to happen.

This, lets be clear

- Southampton is dead
- Leicester, Ipswich and Wolves will provide the other 2

Could it get uncomfortable, sure

This is where the Leicester, Everton and Ipswich being in our next 5 PL games matter

If we were to lose 2 of those, think the trigger gets pulled
