It seems unlikely a month or so after we made Hitchen Technical Director

Possibly though all the comments which you see about Campos make him sound like an uber-scout rather than DoF. Hitchen's role description from the announcement in Sept (below) is a lot more DoF like in nature. Could they work together? Possibly, and depends on egos and whether its financially interesting for Campos. If terms are financially attractive, you could potentially see Campos coming in a Chief Scout or something. We're obviously a far bigger club and with great resources than Lille and he has the Mourinho relationship, so it seems do-able

"This new role will focus on building capabilities to support a world class football infrastructure across senior and youth teams. As Technical Performance Director, Steve will have responsibility for scouting, performance and recruitment analysis and youth recruitment."

The normal DoF duties are split between Hitchen and Caplehorn. It starts feeling a bit crowded if we brought in Campos too. I'd love to have him at the club though.

Yes, agreed. But I think Head Scout might work if everything else does. Or perhaps Hitchen focusses on UK and Campos overseas? Or Hitchen scouting for the youth teams and Campos first team?

I'm sure the stadium has a secret lab facility where we can fuse dna from Campos and Hitchin to make a robocop like individual who wouldn't command any salary .... would have Championship manager pre loaded and telephone directory of all players with all agents being terminated.

Saturday morning smokes are always the best

One thing Levy has done really well, is employ the big players in football, and learn from them. He must be the most connected person in football.

Trevor Birch, the Club’s Director of Football Operations, is leaving to take up the position of Chief Executive of the English Football League.

Trevor Birch said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of Spurs, however the opportunity to play a role in the Football League at such a crucial time is one I couldn’t turn down. There is a big job to be done dealing with the effect of the pandemic together with the discussions on the future structure of football and I’m looking forward to playing my part in making a significant contribution going forwards. I wish everyone at the Club well for the rest of the season.”

Matthew Collecott, Finance and Operations Director, will oversee football operations through to the end of the season.

Everyone at the Club wishes Trevor well in his new role.

Really strange event chain here. He must have been approached almost as soon as he got his office at Spurs. He's certainly not leaving for an easy gig.
I noted the EFL thanked Levy for his understanding.

Wonder is this is Levy understanding while buying himself an ally in the FA?

It does say something about how we are run that our people are often seen as targets for positions like this.
