A much better league performance/placement. CL knockout stage. One good cup run.

Basically 5th, CL quarter finals and a domestic cup win.

We'll get out of the group of cl. Top 24 teams do.
Probably be playoff though rather than top 8.

I'd be happy with qualification for Europe and progressing into the knock outs in the CL. From the knockouts it's a lottery, so anything can happen. Think we should aim for getting to another final again, possibly the league Cup, as that finishes early. Don't really think we can fight on 3 fronts the entire season.

We'll need depth and youth to step up in games.
Proper rotation is required. We can't have a first choice 11. Then change 9 players for a cup game.
Motivation from the coaching staff/players. Realise every game is important.

Hopefully winning the europa will help.

A move to seeing a well coached and drilled side that has green shoots of what the future looks like. Top 7 finish and a couple of cup runs, if we can nick one even better. Squad development crucial this season

Fair enough.

When was the last time a new manager starting a season (with preason) finished below 6th?

Conte 4th.
Mourinho 6th?
Poch 5th.
Redknapp 4th.
Sherwood 6th.
