I've been blocking all promoted content for ages. His plan is to promote tweets from paying accounts and suppress everything else. The three biggest categories of Twitter Blue subscribers so far are right-wing politics, crypto and porn, it's going to be unusable.

I use a 3rd party app, so no ads, amazed he's not killed those already.

I think that it is unlikely to crash and burn. Musk has had to borrow a brickload of money to buy it and his creditors will just take it off him, when it becomes clear to them, that he doesn't know what the fudge he is doing.
