Elon Musk buys twitter

Was always an odious creature, but was a luvey and got away with it.
Went right winger nutter and is now being "outed".
Was quite clear to anyone paying even a modicum of attention that he was a wrong one.
Just like musk.

You forget the level of misogyny and how he was with women. Watching this documentary and its just insane. Seemingly looking back it was well masked by that trashy drug frenetic TV era where shocking was better. But looking back...wow.

Was always there and was never in my opinion difficult to see, but he courted and existed in a certain set that was prepared to over look it because he was useful.
He has been showing his true colours recently and is now fair game.
No sympathy for him, hope he gets what he deserves and some of the people around him who must of known what he was up to get theirs as well.

I was never a massive viewer of his TBH so maybe missed some of it. In compilation form like tonight it's def a massive red flat.

Loads of accusations that he has tactically gone down the right wing Intel route in order to garner support, seems to be working too

Did he turn into a conspiracy theorist mental because he believes it or because he knew he would need a reason the the media going after him in the near future?

Probably doesn't hurt that it pays well in the meantime.

Absolutely, shock "journalism" which pays million and creates a cult

Having a look through the stories today and its shocking. The world we live in now....wow

The standards now are gay leftists accused, guilty as sin, lock them up

Right wing commentators accused, women are lying, its a conspiracy, he is innocent

Absolutely dangerous and scary

Big issue now, don't judge on what they do, judge on whether they are on your side or not.
Wrong is wrong and clams are clams, really shouldn't matter if they agree with you on politics, religion, team you support or shared nationality.

Nice piece of free PR for Rumble. But they are right. And surely Brand has a case taking the UK government to court for loss of earnings. There are no criminal convictions and 500 year + legal premise of innocence until guilt is proven has been canned. Wasn’t this a corner stone of justice systems dating back to the Romans?

'Defending a free internet'
"While Rumble obviously deplores sexual assault, *struggle cuddle*, and all serious crimes, and believes that both alleged victims and the accused are entitled to a full and serious investigation, it is vital to note that recent allegations against Russell Brand have nothing to do with content on Rumble's platform," it said.

Noting YouTube's move, it said Rumble "stands for very different values".

"We have devoted ourselves to the vital cause of defending a free internet - meaning an internet where no one arbitrarily dictates which ideas can or cannot be heard, or which citizens may or may not be entitled to a platform.

"We regard it as deeply inappropriate and dangerous that the UK Parliament would attempt to control who is allowed to speak on our platform or to earn a living from doing so.

"Singling out an individual and demanding his ban is even more disturbing given the absence of any connection between the allegations and his content on Rumble. We don't agree with the behavior of many Rumble creators, but we refuse to penalize them for actions that have nothing to do with our platform.

"Although it may be politically and socially easier for Rumble to join a cancel culture mob, doing so would be a violation of our company's values and mission. We emphatically reject the UK Parliament's demands.

Of course I've been a huge advocate on here for innocence to proven guilty, extremely vocal on it.

The scary part is also that women are being automatically called liars because of so called agendas against a "personality". The idea we can't take a claim seriously because Brand was vocal against covid restrictions, I mean jeez louise

The chorus of "why didn't the come to the table earlier" well just look at twitter and Instagram responses and therein lies one of the major reason why.

Innocence till proven guilty absolutely, listening to anyone that had a claim of having be raped or sexually assaulted and having the freedom of their case heard...again absolutely and without political bias.

The decks already stacked against women and victims

I guess there is an in between scenario, where acts are not really illegal, but distasteful. And that is probably where Brands accusers are. As far as we know he didn't *struggle cuddle* anyone, sex was consensual. But he was a pushy desperate fiend. Which isn't illegal. The only issues I have with judging people on this, is we use todays socially accepted norms to judge decades-old behaviour. And that there is a massive media interest. As well as politically driven interests. People who just didn't like him queueing up to put the boot in. And news papers love love love these stories. They get big hits and help sell advertising.

But the idea that representatives of our government are acting to shame, undermine and stop people earning money in a witch hunt without any proven evidence... is shocking and the individuals should be reprimanded or sacked.

I would like to see the legal process take its course and see where it lies then TBH

If women believe they have been sexually assaulted their claims should be heard and TBF, if he believes he is innocent he should also be keen to see the law take its course

Shame our politicians don't agree. The premise that you could be accused of something, and a Lord then reaches out to your employers and asks them to stop paying you, that is unjust/illegal, isn't it?

Hard to say TBH depends what specifics you are referring to? I imagine anything is either suspension pending investigation or organisations he contracts with using the "not befitting our image" line.

There's another aspect to this that isn't mentioned.

His fame and popularity were (if proven guilty) tools he used in his abuse.

It would be irresponsible to sell a gun to somebody under suspicion of shooting people, just as it would be so to allow Brand access to the tools with which he allegedly snared victims.

Not sure that point bears out. He's not doing striptease on his videos and providing date links. Very obscure approach. Why not put Brand in jail to stop him from meeting anyone at all?

Dame Caroline wrote to Rumble, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook owner Meta asking if they would follow suit.

In her letter to Rumble chief executive Chris Pavlovski, she said: "While we recognise that Rumble is not the creator of the content published by Mr Brand, we are concerned that he may be able to profit from his content on the platform.

"We would be grateful if you could confirm whether Mr Brand is able to monetise his content, including his videos relating to the serious accusations against him. If so, we would like to know whether Rumble intends to join YouTube in suspending Mr Brand's ability to earn money on the platform.

"We would also like to know what Rumble is doing to ensure that creators are not able to use the platform to undermine the welfare of victims of inappropriate and potentially illegal behaviour."

Again if you were accused of something, imagine a Conservative Lord/Dame whatever their title is, writing to your employer trying to screw up your work and income. Before anyone had proved anything. At best its distasteful and is probably illegal if taken to court.

TBF though his last video on YT was not just to proclaim his innocence but to rally a crowd and incite anger within that crowd. Social media is proof that it worked. I would be hesitant to see that continue if I was the decision maker at YT. Thats not really a restriction of his rights to speak he can proclaim his innocence publicly via any other route he wishes without inciting a mob.
