Such a hard game to predict

- Both teams played their full squads in a hard game to the full 90 mid-week
- Villa has the advantage of no travel for both games
- I could see Villa coming off that first big CL win losing focus on this one

On paper, it should be a walk in the park for Villa, in reality, these are exactly the games United pulls the rabbit out on.

No. Last 16 matches are drawn, but top 8 will not face each other, and get 2nd leg at home.
Maybe in terms of price money, but couldn't find anything about it.
 
There are several elements to the overall EL prize money. One element is results with €450k for a win and €150k for a draw. A second element is league position. The incremental increase between each place in the league table will be at least €75k; so a minimum of €525k between 1st and 8th.
Where a club finishes in the table will affect their potential opponents in the knockout rounds. The higher they are placed, in theory the easier the route through to the final. For instance, the teams who finish in first and second cannot play each other until the final; those who are third and fourth would avoid first and second until the semifinal, and so on. The diagram below is for the CL but the EL is the same.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has ended Sir Alex Ferguson’s multimillion-pound ambassadorial contract in his latest cost-cutting measure at Manchester United.

Since retiring in 2013 after 27 years as United manager, the 82-year-old has held the position of global club ambassador, a position for which he received a salary of about £2million.

Ferguson, who won 38 trophies, including 13 Premier League titles, is a regular at Old Trafford and it is understood his position on the board, which is a largely ceremonial role, will not be affected.

The Scotsman was told by Ratcliffe in a face-to-face meeting at Old Trafford that as part of Ineos’s efforts to cut costs at the club, it would stop paying him a salary to be a global ambassador at the end of the season. Sources said the decision was amicable.

Glad to see Utd are currently drawing. If they lose they will probably sack Ten Haag, I just want them to remain stagnant in mediocrity. The longer he stays there the better
