I have to say, I find it fairly distasteful that the difference in prize money for finishing 16th rather than 17th in the league is more than you get for winning both the League Cup and FA Cup. No wonder clubs put out weak sides in those competitions early on.

That’s the FA’s fault, they could make more money from the TV rights.

But the point is he isn't being sacked after a NLD, or a 6-3 loss at home to Liverpool, or losing to Ipswich with pretty much his full team.

If Ange gets sacked it's because this season he has the worst record of a Spurs side to this point in a season in the PL era, it's because post the first 10 games in charge, our form has been miserable, and this despite 300M in investments for players, on the back of already having players like Romero, Bentancur, Porro, Deki, Son in the squad.

I like Ange, and when they do, to your point I hope it's done as best as you can, but he, more than any Spurs manager I can remember, will have the least to complain about re why.

Yeah, I totally get it.

I'm guessing he will be like Nuno and show a load of class in that scenario.

He won't have the least to complain about though. Firstly, you have Nuno who could have quite easily named and shamed a lot of people at our club including our chairman with his lack of football DNA, and the England captain with his total passive aggressive attitude, plus others.

Before that there was the narcissist who was lucky his own players e.g. Dele didn't kick the brick out of him when he deserved it. He should have got nowhere near being the manager at the business end of that season. Then there was Conte, who didn't have the ability as a football manager to nurture a squad, and failed miserably twice to leave his beloved country and last 2 years in the toughest league in the world (despite winning the league). These 2 pricks had nothing to complain about.

I'll let Steff and co share the case for Poch. I accepted it his departure, whilst others didn't. That guy had built a strong case not to get the bullet though. LOL - the guy that made the decision is no more qualified than you and I to make that decision but was / is a major shareholder.

Ange frustrates me immensely, but I will still say it is still too early to fire the gun.

Companies, all companies have a risk tolerance, Ange has pushed that to the limit with Spurs. We all laugh and say we can't/won't get relegated, we are in relegation form and it's the actual job of Munn, Levy & Lange to make sure it not only not happens, but is not possible to happen.

I am serious when I say if we get knocked out of the cups and finish outside of the top 10, Munn will have some answering to do, not just Ange.

But question for you, what is the compelling reason to stick with Ange that isn't just about continuity or some concern about the replacement?

What I would say is that you could be absolutely right. This one isn't black or white.

So where my head is at that I thought I saw a positive trend at the start of this season. My big frustration last season was the 61 goals conceded, whilst we more than compensated for the loss of Kane at the other end. I thought I saw a scenario where season 2 would see 80 goals scored and something like 40-25 conceded. Some great posts from guys like Bedford sharing some root causes e.g. no of crosses / vs marking from crosses and I thought that issue would normalise itself. Then I was thinking that we never really saw the true Ange team last season because the returning players never got to their optimum after injuries. I expected the bad days at the office this season as the adjusted squad assimilated to EL football on top of the 3 other comps. Then the injuries and fatigue hurt our club, and we have never really seen things completely normalise.

I might be clutching at straws, but I really want to see a period where we can test Ange's tactical system. I don't think we've seen that yet.

As you know, I still have my doubts about Ange's acumen, but I want to be fair to the guy and give him until the end of the season....at least.
