The club can afford who it wants. Its one of the richest sports outfits in the world.
It’s not
That’s the myth of what you read onljne
Turnover (which is really high ) isn’t profit
It also doesn’t include debt from which we had one of the hotels transfer debts just behind United and Arsenal and probably Chelsea too now
Those money tables are really really daft

We are wealthier than most PL clubs in England. We are one of the wealthiest clubs in Europe. We keep being told how much the club makes each home game and from letting the stadium for outside events, and how the stadium is "a game changer".

I just don't accept that we can't compete at the very top end of the transfer market and on wages. We make a conscious decision not to - that is different to not being able to.

Giving a manager time doesn't solve anything by itself, the person being given the time needs to be the right man for the job otherwise you are delaying the inevitable and can arguably be making the problems worse.

I think Levy was too quick to get rid of Nuno and Jose, Conte leaving was more about his understandable personal situation.

I think he was too slow to get rid of Poch, and I think he’s too slow on Ange now.

You know how I feel about AVB.

He’s never been great at these timings to be honest, but there was logic in every hire. He’s answerable on all of them to some degree, but he’s running the shop.

But how long should he run the shop for is the question when managers and players get finite amount of time to deliver?

It does make me laugh when people say “we could end up with someone worse”. That of course could happen but how bad exactly do people expect things to get? We have a stadium that is a cash cow, we play in one of the greatest cities in the world in the best league in the world where it has always been easy to attract top talent. Even if we were to get relegated for example, we would be back eventually.

The club as @Bedfordspurs rightly pointed out has very good revenue (turnover), that doesn't equal profit/cash on hand. Covid, bad transfers (Ndombele, GLC, Reguilon, Gil) and debt management (based on good infrastructure investments) limits our immediate ability to spend (even though it has gone up in last 3 seasons, and will improve over time)

The club is not sitting on some pot of cash and refusing to spend, and this isn't speculation, the club has financial statements. Now, the question is/has always been, can/should the club take on extra debt (many PL clubs do) and run at a loss for a multi-year period in an attempt to improve short term results? Current board is clearly not inclined to support that strategy, current strategy (right or wrong) seems to be play within means and look for external investors.

Hence why we spent a fortune in the summer and the one before that
But it’s not bottomless pits of money
The club spends what it has
It’s why it loses money

We are pretty much impossible to relegate at this point, if the club ever really got into trouble it can buy it's way out (see United, Chelsea, repeatedly). Effectively the top 6 clubs in the country have almost double the turnover of the best of the rest and are exactly what people freaked out about with ESL, a group of clubs with so much revenue relegation (while statistically possible, simply won't happen)

Oddly enough, it's not really the tactics I'm worried about. It's a bit of a mixed bag but it could work. It did work for a time. It's the injuries that concern me. We've had a lot of those and I'm afraid they're the result of the system he's been using (and will continue to use). We'll never get a squad big enough to cover for that level of injuries so, for me, he's not a long-term option. I don't really mind him though. So long as there's no better option available and/or we don't get sucked into a relegation battle, he's as good as anybody else.

If I were in charge though, I'd use that time to identify someone I'd bet on in the long run. Again, for me, the injuries are a result of how we play and he's just too reluctant to rotate for this to work in the long run.

He's not actually a great defender. It is just that his pace gets our high line out of trouble a lot.

Players suit a system, your comment is a bit like saying Walker wasn't a great defender except his pace bailed him out, technically true but he is actually elite level as a result of the pace.

The club could have chosen in the summer to buy 2 ready now players to use language people like
Maybe Solanke and Eze…
Imagine how the squad would look with the injuries
Imagine the fans reaction that we only buy two players and one gets injured (like Eze has repeatedly, and I want Eze)
So the club have again laid out £130m but the squad would gain one player if the Luther guy is injured

I don't want to say too much but I believe there were a couple of players that Ange really wanted in the summer who were happy to move to Spurs but the club didn't deliver them.
But he has been given Vic, VdV, Madders, Johnson, Solanki, Werner, Gray, Bergvall, Dragusin.
That's 9 players. Plus inheriting Porro, Romero, Bentancur, Udogie, Son. All players you'd expect he would want if he didn't already have them

As he is in charge that’s up to him.

True
But the squad needs 22/23 players
You have forgotten odobert too and Ashley Philips (I think he was brought in Anges time)
But we have lost
Kane - replaced by Dom
PEH - replaced by gray in theory or bentcaur stepping into the DM role
Skipp - see above
Gil - he did play last year and is replaced by oderbert who is out as we know
Royal - technically replaced by Spence or Gray you could argue
Dier - Dragusin

I think I’ve captured everyone but the key wasn’t adding quality it capable quantity. All the ones who have Left couldn’t play Ange ball

And he also inherited Sarr and kulu and Davies and richarlison

It's hard to see a way back now, I think. If he's lost the away fans it's a long road to salvation.

It's just a matter of winning a game, which would change the vibe completely. Unfortunately it may well not happen for a while. I'm looking forward to Tamworth though, a guaranteed win to get the New Year going after all the gloom and doom of the bad run we are in.

What have you done?

I think come the end of the season, having had 2 full seasons in charge, it will be a fair point to make a call
Which I agree with

I just don't think progress at Spurs, the Spurs he took over can be judged over a year and a bit.

If he went tomorrow and a new guy came in we are still very short in player quality to give that new guy a shot of what see as success IMO.
