It's not an easy league, true.

But we've played 15 league games, won 6, drawn 2 and lost 7.
Is that what YOU would have expected, especially given how the last few months of last season ended?
And it was you who said Ange should be judged after at least 10 games of this season...
We've lost more games than Palace and Everton and the same amount as Leicester and West Ham 😂

We've only lost one less than Ipswich.

I think it's fair to ask for better

Honestly, no
I’d have speculated anywhere between 3rd and 6th
But I wouldn’t have guessed we would be missing a whole first 11 almost
Hard to guess on ijnuries
I do believe the 3 highest performing teams this year have had the fewest, Pool, Chelsea and Fulham
And I do know that arsenal and city missing one player each have used that as their reason for blowing the title
We should have IMO won a couple more than we have based on how we okayed

Regardless of if he stays or goes its hard not to see he is another manager suffering at the hands of "tomorrow never comes" in terms of squad development. I am massively encouraged by the progress in future buys, I think Bergvall and Gray are exceptional future buys, I think Ode is also one that looks a talent and Udogie despite looking knackered is still one I rate highly. The issue is clearly who is here for now? Solanke is big money and is a very good player, but we are still a massive CF down for the bench or as comp (I don't include Richy for 2 reasons). Son who I have loved is a season here too long, likely to be another. Could go on and on

Whoever gets the job has a massive job on their hands to punch above their weight
Even those who have managed to punch above their weight get sacked after being let down by the club. That is why we are becoming less and less attractive for managers and end up having to take a punt on somebody like Ange in the first place.

This league is not easy, true. But it never was.
For every Fulham, Bournemouth and Brighton result there's also an Ipswich, Palace or Leicester. GHod forbid what happens vs Soton next week...
THe issue is that those 3 are miles better than they were and deserve to be where they are, so given other than Liverpool the rest have regressed and those have improved the depth has grown, its coincided with our lack of depth, injuries and frankly some players not being good enough.

Forrest, Bournemouth, Fulham and Brighton are where they are by merit, not because of us

Missing almost a whole first 11? eh?
Even when we've had everyone fit and available we've seen the same things: in one game we had options on the bench to try and stop the flow that was going against us and he stood there and did nothing and then later claimed "he didn't feel like changing things because it would have given us a 'false victory'"...yeah...

We can keep talking about how Arsenal or Liverpool have or haven't coped with injuries but it's largely irrelevant to me as i see the same general issues even when we have everyone fit

A decent top 6/7 side shouldn't be losing more than it wins and should be able to beat at least half of those 6 sides i mentioned

So we’re not missing players?
That’s not valid for the team suffering or struggling
Again I’m quoting the facts as I read them, the teams with the least injuries this season are doing the best
It’s odd that that may happen of course

Are we missing a whole first 11? That's what you said, i'm asking you to qualify that as it doesn't sound right to me but maybe i'm wrong?

Vicario
Davies, VDV, Romero
bentacur
Richy, Moore, odebert and now Johnson possibly…
That’s a lot of players
And then add in the ones who are playing with fatigue and injuries

Agreed
And in the same period we have also missed a lot of players
Maybe there is a correlation
Really? Between February and May the form looked so much worse because we barely missed any players. Only Udogie was out after the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game, so the excuses about injuries for that run of poor form doesn't wash.
Have we missed more players than other teams? Not sure we have and even if we have, does it look like Ange has tried to adapt to that situation and make the best of what he can or has he just carried on doing the same thing regardless of who is able to play?

That is a lot of players, yes. But not a whole first 11 ;-)
Regardless, our bad form and bad ways of playing etc has been present even when those players were available. Rotation options have been robbed of i agree but when rotation options have been available they've often not been used anyway

Exactly. That summer business wasn't that of a club that is ambitious for now. You can be ambitious for now AND be looking to secure your future, it's not like it's against some rules or anything...

Still, Ange should be getting more out of what he has, maybe not top 4 perhaps but we shouldn't be languishing in 11th; it's not like we have had a bad set of fixtures against top sides all at once etc
'maybe not top 4'.... This is a good example of the problem we have. Our squad is nowhere near top 4 standard. It is rather thin and very young. 6th would be a decent finish if we didn't have the cups to worry about. However we have gone into this season with a squad no bigger (and perhaps smaller) than last season despite knowing we'd have a whole bunch more games to play.

Yeah we have missed loads
The key of course is some are in the same role like CB and wide forward which means no rotation and the players okaying forms drop with fatigue and then they get injured
This doesn’t excuse Ange from not managing the squad better IMO but when you play a team like Chelsea, top of the form table and able to make seven changes from their midweek game, played a day earlier who are missing 2 players (BBc info so may be wrong) you have a disadvantage that you need to deal with somehow

I agree, squad isn't top 4 standard perhaps, but we aren't 11th standard. We have the extra games yes, but we have a bigger squad than teams who we would expect to see in 11th place rather than us so the extra games can hamper us in terms of top 4 perhaps but no excuses for having lost more than we've won etc
