50??? Where the hell do you see us getting 26 more points from mate?

Gotta be a typo surely

I think when our players come back we'll be better (but still poor) and hopefully put a few teams to the sword that don't have anything to play for. A couple of signings will help. I said around 50 (I think 46-50) plus I'm an optimist lol

There is no chance we lose against Leicester. They are the crisis team that we enjoy beating and forgetting that the rest of the season exists. It will be a 4-1 win and there will be some who bury their head in the sand but I think that’s a decreasing number.
Just like those who said we wont lose to Everton!

Feels somewhat a cop-out on your part :)

But fair enough
I think I understand where Bedford is coming from. Although I've been on the fence rather than in any camp, I have to admit that yesterday feels like a turning point for me. So far, there always was something to take away from our performances, regardless of the result. You mention Brighton away, but the first half was really good.

You have to go back a long way (at least, in my opinion) to find a performance as amateurish and miserable as what we produced in that first half against a team as poor as Everton - that same Everton team we destroyed less than six months ago. Granted, Moyes is a good manager but there isn't a single Everton player you'd want as a first-team regular. Even their fans thought Moyes wouldn't be able to get anything from that squad.

I saw absolutely nothing postive: the line-up, the set-up, the performances, the players' attitude on the pitch. I'm not sure that something you can bounce back from to be honest. Even if we somehow make it to the League Cup final, that memory will stick around for a long time, at least as far as I'm concerned.

I think we've seen worse than yesterday: Brighton second half doing ZERO on the touchline until it was too late (and then saying some bs about "not wanting to get a false victory" as the reason for lack of subs earlier..), losing fairly limply to Ipswich with an almost full-strength team, the Tamworth game, Coventry, clueless defending vs Liverpool, soft NLD displays, the Chelsea away defeat last spring..i could go on...there have been FAR WORSE displays than Everton

We did have a very depleted team.

But Everton are dog brick. And they're managed by David fudging Moyes.

We should be able to put out a B or C team that at least matches them on the field. We were beaten all over by one of the league's worst sides.
David Moyes is a good manager.

Also we may well look down our noses at Everton but if you look at the two teams available yesterday, Everton players would probably have made up the biggest portion of players you'd select into a combined 11.... and that is especially the case when you look at the spines of the two teams. Yes Everton are a poor team but the players that we have available at the moment are either massively lacking in experience or absolutely knackered.

It's each to their own, but I really think porro is one of our weakest links defensively and adds hardly nothing going forward anymore apart from wild shots and the occasional good cross, when he should be crossing every single game because he has a good peg.

Id put Spence RB and Reggy LB. Then you don't have Spence cutting back onto his right all the time.

Alas, until we change managers that won't happen. Porro has probably been told not to cross and come back and find a way through on the deck

Also, back to your point about a new manager coming and having an effect, yes, yes they would.

They'd see our glaringly obvious holes in the way we play out at the back and leave our defence exposed and how our midfielders are non existent and address it.

You'd see an instant reduction in chances and goals against. It's not rocket science, you address where you are brick at, and try to make that better.

Ange doesn't have a clue what he's doing and it shows with the results week in week out. Pundits can see it fans can see it and they actually want him to stay, so they can continue to laugh at us.
I'm not convinced the answer to Porro's issues at right back is to be forced to put in a player at left back who has all the same weaknesses as Porro and far less strengths.

It was a deserved win for Palace too
Another team that got a week off as we had to play Thursday/Sunday.

I am fearful that we will have the same this week with Leicester. The difference is we have far less players available now and also have an even more fatigued set of available players. The only benefit this weekend compared to Palace is that we're at home this time.

Coooooor that's a tough one. There have been so many this season but probably pops it.

1. Palace
2. Ipswich
3. Saudi Sportswashing Machine away
4. Bournemouth away
5. Liverpool home
6. Chelsea home
7. Bournemouth away
8. Everton
9. Brighton away (second half)

The rest games we lost we were meh but it's 12 now in the league. Id say Saudi Sportswashing Machine home we deserved to win, Arsenal at home I can't recall wasn't it a boring game, oh and arsenal away was pretty shocking tbf.

We deserved to lose in all of those listed above because we played like utter utter clams, that's down to Ange's tactics.
Saudi Sportswashing Machine away we actually played very well.

IMO Bournemouth away and Palace away were our worst performances.

Get the sense it's all about the potential next guy now - Levy trying to show that we don't always sack managers straight away.

A loss in either of this week's games will surely be it, though? He's one more bad result from the chop, I would think.

Palace was after a home tie v AZ where we rotated out 9 of the starting XI from the previous league game - you can't seriously be using that as an excuse.

You look at how Everton pressed the life out of us yesterday. Neither Moyes or that Everton team are known for it. But Moyes knew how we were going to play and their press got them the first goal and several other chances. That's good management because he's adapted to what he knew he'd be playing against. Moyes is a not an elite manager but he's a very good one.

Matt Law reporting that Ange is safe at the moment so I guess he'll get the two games this week to see if he can give himself some breathing space. As long as he's here, we'll get behind him. I'm going Sunday and dreading it though. The journey home is going to be torture if we don't win. If we lose...I don't want to think about it.

Are you not entertained though?
