Seems laughable now, but remember when fans turned on Conte…and were 4th!

I can’t see that there is any way back for Ange as he won’t get players back quick enough to get the results he needs. And the negative momentum is impossible to fight against.

Missed chances happen Steff, Son in particular can be like that. But if we hadn't conceded so easily we might have been in a better position to build. He and Maddison are not the reason we lost today. Plenty of people trying not to blame the manager will say they were. I'm afraid I don't subscribe to that view.

I am not trying not to blame the manager. I am pointing out he is by far not the only person to blame.

Maybe this is Levy giving us a fudge you :p

“I gave you some of the best managers in the game, and you still moaned about pretty football.”

What the fudge?

We have all these injuries and we loan out a fit CB.

Idiotic.

He went Scotland, you know the Diddy league ange came from and had a mare.

No harm to lad, he's young, he's got a fair bit to learn and hopefully he can be a good player for us, but he's not the answer to our problems atm.

I’ve just checked the table, his first game for Aberdeen, he scored 42 goals and they have just won the title.

As is mate.
Take it as you wish.
I don't set out to patronise anyone, but I won't ever forget the impatience shown towards Pochettino at the first sign of real trouble (which hindsight tells us is the sort of 'trouble' we'd beg for now). I'll accept being called any number of things for not forgetting that, as it's on me.
I won't bother 'defending' myself too much as it seems as though your mind is set, but I fully accept many want him gone. All I have ever said is that context is very important IMO.
It's all good Mikey.
Two things I will pick you up on though; I am not a 'data man' per se, and the amount of reliance on data for information is Milo and I differ on.
The second is that I am also a 'lowly fan' trying to make sense of this fudging mess. Frankly, I find methods such as mine are patronised and disregarded more than others, but again, all good mate and at the end of this, all we want is for our club to be successful and entertaining.
Hope you get back to the pod someday.
Poch had the best part of a year after performances turned before he got the sack.

He was given (and had earned) plenty of time.

Fans didn’t turn on him
He turned on the team
Fans could have turned on him when he bottled the CL game and brought on defenders when we needed a winner
Today was the first time I’ve felt just like that game in a long long time

Some people do care about what others think about them. Why would he want to keep running the club if the fans were mostly against him for example?
Because he likes doing it, I assume.

I shouldn't think most successful people give much of a fvck what other people think - it would be quite the impediment to becoming successful in the first place.

I’m still Ange In, primarily because a) both he and the players seem to still have commitment and conviction, and b) I can believe that the prolonged injury crisis has had a massive effect on performances and results, and because of that you can’t really judge Ange’s potential here.

Do you think the squad he had available today was capable of not being dumped on all over the pitch by one of the worst teams in the division?

I can't comment on the second half or after the second goal, but the first 25 minutes was some of the worst play I'd seen in a while. Id hazard a guess going in at half time Thier commitment and conviction had gone.

The real question is, if the committment and conviction is there then why can't it be there for 90 minutes not just 20 minutes of a second half when the game is all but over?

Yes, but pretty graphs aside, if ever a manager had earned the right to rebuild a side it was him. If consistent CL football and a CL Final amidst the turmoil not enough for that, then we're doomed!
What if that was his limit? He seems to have built a bit of a career as a nearly man - there comes a point where he either steps up or steps aside to allow us to look for someone who can.

He did very well to get us to where he did. He didn't step up.

One thing.
Whatever your views and opinions are, they should be respected. If anyone feels patronised by an opinion I express, I apologise for that as it is not my intent at all. Equally, I'll fervently discuss and debate my perspectives and opinions. Those who have known me for a while around here will surely know it isn't personal or intended to make people feel slighted. I am no smarter than anyone, but I am certainly no dumber either. Like us all, I just want this current Hotspur tide to change.
Most of us will realise there is no intent there Steff, don’t be hard on yourself.

What was interesting, to me, was that last week it felt like the first attempt at … positing, dare I say … the other side of the fence ie Ange out. And it was a very short conversation as Milo said words to the effect of “I’m not the right person to ask [as I’m Ange in]”.

I have been close to asking in the pod thread in recent weeks what would have to happen for you to start questioning him, as it’s been very clear where you stand over the past few months, in spite of a clear deterioration in the underlying numbers, as, it must also be said, the underlying health of our squad. I think a conversation from you both about what would have to happen would be very interesting, it highly hypothetical.

For the record, he lost me today, for the points outlined above on him losing his nerve. His brain appears to be scrambled and for me, he’s reached his journey’s end. Not because he necessarily deserves to be sacked, I just don’t see him turning it around. The players looked totally and utterly bereft in that first half.
