    Because they literally don’t care.

    Mathys Tel

I look forward to seeing the development pathway that results in them both being starters for us in different positions.

But didn't we already have a young left sided player to develop in Odobert? Again....it doesn't seem strategic.

    Mathys Tel

Couldn't agree more about your points on Tel. Seems some people cant understand the difference between questioning whether a transfer makes logical sense vs criticising a player. Perfectly reasonable to do the former imo and this one still doesn't really make any sense to me. With Johnson...

    Randal Kolo Muani

I wonder about the pros and cons of these no obligation deals. Does it mean no real ties to the club so motivation to go all out. Or does it mean he will be trying even harder to secure a move post loan!?

It’s a problem if you like seeing your inverted winger create anything.

Observations. We have to hope that’s the end of Johnson on the left. If Frank thinks Odo and Tel aren’t up to it then we need to go into the market again. Starting to become apparent that Tel wasn’t a Frank signing (which I said at the time). Tough to watch when you see what someone like...

    Xavi Simons

The media are probably over-egging this so they can milk the u-turn when he joins Chelsea.

Ruined us from that left forward slot in the game against Sheff U in the cup under Conte. Thought we’d have a look then.

Don’t expect to get him but this would be an elite signing. Just turned 23, upward curve, closest I’ve seen to Dele’s style. Not a playmaker but direct, travels well with the ball, always around the goals.

    Eberechi Eze

We’ve got off lightly here. Player wanted Arsenal all along….who really wants a player like that playing for us? No thanks.

    Eberechi Eze

I thought about this the other day....how we could have got Eze when he was at QPR etc. But...The reality is these players would very unlikely develop to the level they have done with the more limited game time they would get with us. Look at Odobert for example. We DID actually dip into the...

He doesn’t know how to play the role. He takes up the same positions as tho he were on the right. I’d like to see Odobert on. Ironically Solomon was great against Burnley away in Ange’s first season.

I know - I remember how bad it was. Johnson is one of very few modern day wingers who are more dangerous on their non inverted side.

Both right wingers in the team. Both left wingers on the bench. Spurs-ball.

Possibly. I don’t really rate Solanke and believe we need a forward. In a standard 4231 would you rather: Isak Tel Kulusevski Kudus Or Solanke Savinho Eze Kudus

Unless we turn him to brick (quite possible) then you’re getting at least 2/3rds of that back in 3 years. For clarity - I know we’re not getting him in a million years.

Ask yourself this. How many players do you see go back to their original club for a pre-determined fee? Most likely - they are sold elsewhere and original club get a cut. Or they run their contract down and go elsewhere for free.
