    I completely agree. It shouldn't be so difficult to wean people though. It's fairly simple principles - consume less, be present, people not things, less tech, patronise human art/craft and local things. Its just an addiction people need to break, not a bind of sustance

    GDP simply measures population growth and planet destruction. A median quality of life index would be the thing to use. Something that factors in wealth inequality, healthy lifespan, air/water/soil quality, affordability of housing, crime rates, localism of consumption, education levels...
