    The proposal would leave a lot open to interpretation, introduce more subjectivity and that leads to inconsistency. And where you have inconsistency, you'll make the officials' lives harder IMO.

    Genuinely, I don't think it was a pen. I think the defender gets something on the ball. I thought it at the time and I still think it having watched the replay.     I expected about 10 mins stoppage time because there were two lengthy stoppages at the start of the second half. You throw in the VAR checks and subs and I was a little surprised it was 13 but it wasn't unreasonable. On the officiating, for sure we've had some inconsistent decisions this year...

    Maddison back is huge for us. Adds a bit of guile. Even the pen shout, he was willing to take responsibility in the box and go at someone. Could also see him geeing up other lads and consoling Gallagher at one point. He could be a difference maker.

    Saw a stat a while back that this century, Everton are the only club of the 92 that have not had anything to celebrate. They haven't won a trophy or haven't had a promotion. I have a soft spot for Everton and they have great history but if any club is a nothing club, it's them right now.
