    This is why I think we should be getting Mason in as a number 2 to one of these older heads who will demand the respect of the players more than Mason himself and are potential motivators of players and fans but have been out of the game for too long (Redknapp, Hoddle, Klinsmann, whoever…)...

    A google search has given 5 through balls this season after 29 games (wow!!), whereas last season it was 18. So heading for about a third this season compared to last if the current pace of 0.17 through balls per game persists. No idea if the source is accurate but it does without doubt pass...

    Someone made the comparison to Vertonghen under AVB (last few months) and Sherwood, I think that’s quite accurate. Something’s clearly not clicking for him at the moment, mentally. Doesn’t mean that under a new regime he won’t come back to life again like we saw with JV.

    The Chelsea game was the one that made me sit up and take notice. That performance just didn’t smell right and the reaction of VDV and Spence at the end showed it wasn’t a happy camp. Pretty much everything in the league since City away has been a struggle. The warning signs were there...

    Yang was doing alright at Pompey, they liked him there. Donley didn’t get a kick at Stoke, completely frozen out, moved to Oxford, got injured and has only just become available again in the last few weeks where he’s been a starter. (But yea you can class it as a poor season so far for him I guess)
