He was definitely poor yesterday, but tbf he was looking for the ball and he definitely cares. If we can stay up then hopefully he can really show what he can do next season. Agree that he’s got the tools to be a great player.

The "If we go down" thread

There’s apparently video circulating on social media tonight of Lily refusing to follow Tudor’s instructions in the tunnel before the game yesterday, so she can do one too.

I struggle to believe that he was successful with 15 tbh. His distribution yesterday was a different level of bad.

It's been on a downward curve in the PL since December 2023. Frank plays his part, but there is plenty of blame to share around to all of those who have played a role.

    Which they won’t.

Form me, his performance levels are irrelevant. It’s about signalling to the squad what is acceptable. The culture looks a mess to me at the minute (I didn’t notice yesterday, but apparently VDV was ignoring Tudor’s direction to press further up the pitch on a number of occasions), it’s a big...

I’d have Archie in there above Biss, who (no matter how desperate we are) should never have played for us again. Otherwise that’s what I’d go with.

    Xavi Simons

If we were playing well and confidence throughout the team was high then I think he could be great for us. I'm not at all convinced that he's the man for the job remaining over the next 11 games though tbh - but unfortunately for us, and for him, we don't have a choice but to play him every game...

    ENIC

I’d have more sympathy with this view if he hadn’t overseen the transfer strategy and ‘squad building’, and the ping-ponging managerial appointments, that have seen us arrive at this place. He bears the vast majority of the responsibility imo. Hope your journey back was smooth and you can rest...

Agreed. I still think a couple of wins could be enough - it’s where those are coming from for us is the huge worry.

We were truly awful from start to finish. From high in the North I had no idea what we were trying to do. There isn’t a top class PL player available for us at the minute, but for me so many of our problems start from the keeper; zero presence, awful distribution, ponderous, panicky…so so poor.

    Really really poor today.

That’s the spirit! 😀 Fitful night’s sleep. Approaching Waterloo. A few pints and we’ll be good to go!

The Overlap - some interesting comments from Ange

Can’t see him ever getting near another PL job tbh. He was incredibly lucky to get one, never mind two. Found out after 10 games in the first and - surprise surprise - that hadn’t been forgotten when his dodgy Greek mate appointed him again.

Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

So all the good stuff has nothing to do with the government and all the bad stuff is down to them? Lol. A typically unbiased view from multi-millionaire Mr Establishment, Andrew Neill. Meanwhile, back on Planet Earth…...

Thoughts are with the family of the former Prince Andrew, who died in a car crash next week.

They’ve already lost control of the budgets on their councils, so fitting really.
