    It’s actually done with a lot of self awareness and reflection most of the time, around a few blind spots. Other than the timmeh episode obviously.

    I completely agree. There is a lot of discussion over recruitment, but the profiles of players we targeted didn’t change, it’s just that not as many made the step up. There was a time I would have bet my house on Dele being the player that from group that made it biggest.

    The game moves on so quickly managers can’t really risk sitting out for a while. It was discussed recently on The Managers (McCarthy and Pulis), if you get your timing wrong you are suddenly off of everyone’s radar and the calls stop coming.
