    Chernobyl was built 6 years before fukishima. Even so at the time neither thought anything would go wrong. They both had safety measures in place. It was unforseen. As they usually are.

    Fukishima is estimated to cost $1trn to clean up by the time it's finished. That's why regulations are so strict.

    Have we? Yes solar and wind are cheaper. But factor in the energy storage required and grid upgrades, it isn't yet. We can't go too much solar as we are northern and winter the days are too short. Nuclear? We'll look at the price of hinkley c and the price agreed per mwh.
