    I don’t watch much of Argentina, but they are one of the big boys of international football - while Spurs are not one of the big boys in the PL. That's a big difference. Plus there's no narrative about Romero the Argentine international.

    His reputation is the prime argument for selling him. Unlike other defenders, who frequently get away with elbows, stamps and cynical fouls, Romero will never get any leeway from the refs - quite the opposite. The narrative is just too strong.
