    The two reasons (imo) in no particular order are 1. Tighter access to credit (mainly mortgages) for the majority (but not all) 2. The arrival of the first iPhone in 2007 and Android in 2008. Too add....many aspects of the events of the 2008 financial crisis are the Genesis of what we are seeing...

    I don't think they should have VAR for corners unless they can fully automate the 'crossing the byline or not' part. Then that bit, yes. But I'd be happy for the VAR in the booth man to prompt a correction in the earpiece of the onfield ref if he clearly sees he's got it wrong. Plenty enough...
