    Ange departs

I was Ange in again after Bilbao. I have no problem admitting now that my renewed stance was all emotional. I think the board took a bold, mature and well timed decision parting ways with Ange. The results and performances over time were not good enough, but that should take nothing away from...

    American politics

I've started doom scrolling again. I mean, it's such a brick show over there and it’s hard not to be engaged on some level, but it's not very beneficial to my mental health. Scary how things develop; secret police raids, attacks on universities, law firms and media, prominent politicians...

    Ben Davies

Davies might suit the system of our new guy better than he did Angeball. He's a model pro and a reliable backup, as well as an experienced club player, so I'm happy with that extention. I can also see him get into coaching eventually.

    World Cup 2026 - Qualifiers

Exactly what I thought today as well. It was a brilliant game and a great win, no doubt, but if we lose focus and lose one or two of the upcoming "easier" games, those three points against Italy will be wasted.

    World Cup 2026 - Qualifiers

Haven't seen much of him other than against us and for Norway, but he always looks solid. The right kind of player for us. Watching Ødegaard I'm also annoyed he ended up at that lot down the road. He oozes quality. I hope in time Bergwall can become a similar player.

    Holy crap, that's almost four!

    World Cup 2026 - Qualifiers

Definitely. Could use a better keeper, and a CB pairing of the old Berg/Johnsen mould, but there's plenty reasons for being optimistic about this team. Hopefully we can finally reach a major tournament again.

    World Cup 2026 - Qualifiers

An absolute joy. Him, Ødegaard, Haaland and Sørloth are a very dangerous quartet!

    World Cup 2026 - Qualifiers

Haaland with the third, wow! Norway being...well, not Norway at all, lol.

Nusa with an absolute SCREAMER! 2-0 Norway!

    World Cup 2026 - Qualifiers

Nusa has been brilliant for Norway so far, still think he could've been good for us. Deserved lead for Norway.

    Ange departs

And we go again. Thanks for those first ten games that made me want to watch Spurs again and for getting the no trophy monkey off our backs - that was an evening that I'll always cherish. I hope now our new manager will be suited to our players and that he is a great man manager - which I...

    So, what happened today?

Oldest kid got sick on Monday. Threw up like crazy. Thought I'd avoided it, but no way Jose. Simultaneously throwing up and bricking liquid is a recipe for disaster. Luckily (?) the wife is away with work and wasn't here to witness the human fountain. That's probably more than enough detail...

Now for the annual update of the handball rule to reconfuse those who have recently figured it out.

PSG look vulnerable defensively when Inter can string a few passes and a proper attack together.

    The Stats Thread

I read it as 74/75 was the first season. Arthur Albiston played for United then and was still at the club when Ferguson took over.

    What’s everyone reading?

Solvej Balle's On the calculation of volume (book 4). It's basically a series of books about a woman forever stuck on November 18th. Sort of Groundhog day in book form, only philosophical rather than humorous. As odd and limiting the premise seems, I find it to be a remarkably addictive...
