    Ange departs

And I still don’t understand how we never heard mention of it until we won the final.

Come on, mate, it’s not a ‘disgraceful’ decision. I can’t be bothered listing all the negative records he broke in the PL last year, but there were very many. And we finished 17th. The EL win meant there was a decision to make - there were sensible arguments either way. But ‘disgraceful’...

Yip. For me, he sacked himself.

Turns out they were right. For once. Hopefully we’ll actually have enjoyed watching the football on the way. It was 50:50, so a backlash was inevitable no matter what the decision. I was convinced we’d win it from the QFs onwards as I knew it would put us in such a difficult position.

Depends who’s on the other side of the coin.

Given our history of late, almost no development would surprise me. ‘We are delighted to welcome Elon as manager of our club, and are thankful that he suddenly became available. His excellent man-management skills, alongside his outstanding business acumen, made him the only candidate we wanted…’

By the end, Biden probably thought they were a record of how The Beatles were managed.

Contingency planning : When Ange is sacked, who should replace him?

We went months (maybe a year or more?) in the PL without looking like there was any buy-in from the players. The quality of football was awful (it was in the EL final too - but I was more than happy to take it to gain a trophy), we frequently conceded very early, and the players often looked...

I think United will do well next season. With no Europe, they will have plenty of time on the training pitch. If the system needs altered then I'm sure he'll have the space in which to do it.

In which case he'd probably take the offer of £250,000 from elsewhere.

    Ange departs

Chelsea looked to have sealed Delap. United have signed Cunha and look to be nearing completion with Mbuemo. Two teams we'd hope to be competing with next year getting on with pretty significant business. Certainly not time to panic - but also not the time to be resting on laurels (or to be...

If that's true (and I can't believe it is), while other clubs are getting on with the serious business of preparing for next season, then it's not good at all.

Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Like Musk in America, it’s the appearance of doing something without any analysis of what the consequences might be.

I don’t follow other clubs that closely so have no idea. There is literally no reason not to simply feed a line to a journalist if we are set on Ange.

    Ange departs

Couldn’t disagree more strongly. No matter what happens, the bloke is going to be under enormous pressure from Game 1 next season in the PL, given where we finished last year. They could make his job easier by coming out with a clear ‘Nothing to see here.’ Instead, they are allowing speculation...

Totally agree. For me, if he stays now it’s because the board feel they haven’t been able to attract anyone they want more. A quick leak to a friendly journalist would kill all noise immediately were they definite on him staying.

Tottenham Hotspur 2025 Europa League Winners !!!!!!!

That is absofukcingloutely brilliant. Thanks for posting. I will watch that at least 100 times over the summer, I reckon. 😃

They have to be sounding out potential candidates at this stage (although surely they have been doing that for months?), otherwise there would have been leaks fed to firm up his psition. It all suggests that even if he stays it's because there don't seem to be more convincing options available...
