Considering they’ve been cut off from that gas i guess A) we’re finding out and B) it’s still lower than uk inflation.

I worked for network rail as a risk analyst and gained risk mgt and project mgt qualifications plus a host of significant experience on major programmes Like crossrail, working across all major disciplines (civils, track, signalling, ole telecoms etc.) in that time (and particularly in the...

Sure if you include the basket case economies. But if you compare to our nearest equivalents (i.e. France and Germany) it’s a different story.

Parasitic mobsters? Lol. The majority of public sector workers are grossly underpaid and overworked. Successive Tory governments have no understanding of how to drive efficiency and economy in the public sector, their only idea of efficiency begins and ends at cutting head counts and slashing...

I’m not sure that your inflation figures are correct: uk inflation is currently listed at 9.4% while Germany is 7.6% and France is 5.8%. in addition the imf economic forecast provides a fairly grim outlook for the uk economy in 2022 and 2023. We are the worst performing of all g7 countries...

I take your point but I honestly feel like things won’t improve until we admit we made a massive mistake and rejoin the single economy ina Norway style brexit. I don’t feel like Britain can go it alone as a purely service economy in a global economic system largely dominated by massive trading...

Also what of those supposed world class trade deals that countries were supposedly scrambling over themselves to line up and agree with us post brexit? I haven’t seen a. Single one yet, nor a single brexit benefit. What has that clam Jacob Rees mogg identified in his role as minister for brexit...

So nothing to do with import and export tariffs increasing due to being outside the eu, and the increased bureaucracy (which we were told would actually decrease following brexit) making it take longer to get goods and materials through customs. Nothing to do with food production costs massively...

Apologies yes. I disagree with brexit, but can see the argument for leaving the eu. But the version of brexit that Boris “got done” is both a complete shambles and not actually done yet! and I think the cost of living crisis is directly linked to that outcome albeit it isn’t the only driver.

It’s kind of hard to let it go when it’s fundamentally fudging our economy from farms to fishing to manufacturing to scientific research to the import/export market.

Where did he play before Leicester? I remember being gutted when they signed him, because he was quite the prospect even then

I do recall a rumour along these lines. But he was excellent for Leicester last season

A rumour from a mate that we may be going for James Maddison with the cost partially off set by winks going the other way! yes please m’lud!

I feel like his approach to taxation has been quite reactive rather than proactive in terms of responding to the extension of furlough, and the cost of living crisis e.g implementing versus not implementing windfall tax etc. To me this suggests that he will look to reduce the tax burden at a...

Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

The trouble is that the OBR risk analysis indicates that reducing the tax burden would be fiscally irresponsible given the current and forecast levels of public debt and the economic and geopolitical risks that we as a nation are exposed to. Essentially the public debt will become unmanageable...
