Contingency planning : When Ange is sacked, who should replace him?

Terrible press conference, and then I read this feature which presents some of it in a very different light and context. I remember being particularly angry in Jan that he was the only one speaking and that no-one else (our sporting director paramount in this) was speaking to back him up. Has...

Contingency planning : When Ange is sacked, who should replace him?

I found a cruelty to the press conference today. Ange is clearly a lone target, clearly going to be picked apart over and over by the same questions, and ends up being dragged even further into some really bad corners. If ever I wished for someone to feign illness; if he did, Matt Wells could...

    Ange in or out?

Hopefully he will continue adjusting himself so as speed is less a factor in his game than defensive work. I feel I am already watching him adjust his running style (that could be confirmation bias built around the knowledge he has said he would be doing that)...

    Ange in or out?

I found it interesting that he did not protect the player in the conference today. I have to believe Bergvall was still working through the illness which kept him out of Swedish squad. Ange did not offer that as an equation. I'd like to have seen Sarr, Maddison and Bergvall at that time personally.

OMT: Spurs v Chelsea Thursday, 8pm at Stamford Bridge

Sadly, it appears maybe both of us were wrong. I certainly appear to hve been :-(

Well...we heard from him...and I was wrong! He just made a bizarre decision!!!!! Surely Bergvall, Maddison and Sarr would've been the mix at that time???

    American politics

I think you've hit upon a dilemma truth here. There is little doubt that supporting local industry and products is a healthy thing for those communities. I always look to buy my food from small independent shops and small local farms. I've paid loads for my eggs forever but they are from local...

OMT: Spurs v Chelsea Thursday, 8pm at Stamford Bridge

In fairness, I wasn't too sure what I was watching beyond a collection of players playing with little attacking conviction on the ball and at a bewilderingly docile pace. Bergvall was a beacon!

OMT: Spurs v Chelsea Thursday, 8pm at Stamford Bridge

Agreed. I think it is the most important discussion/hope right now, that we stay with the purported vision. I won't hold my breath, albeit in fairness, Ange has lasted longer than anyone would've (or indeed did) under Levy previously. Still, I cannot quite believe the leopard has become a lion...

OMT: Spurs v Chelsea Thursday, 8pm at Stamford Bridge

I assumed it was because Bergvall had been sick during the international break and was still not at full pelt. He definitely dropped way off in the second-half, so has to have been an energy thing?

OMT: Spurs v Chelsea Thursday, 8pm at Stamford Bridge

Interesting as I felt we allowed them by and large to have their way.

I think that's right. The sheer levels of 'safety' versus fundamentally bad decision making is so bizarre. I am about to listen to 'the interview'...I can tell it will be painful. What he did was very foolish!

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

This does not directly answer my post. It merely reinforces the opinion you've been stating. All good. Yes, I'd love to have seen more overall rotation. I'd also loved to have seen a couple more 'ready' players like Eze, I'd like to have not seen Odobert and Richy crocked so early, I'd like our...

OMT: Spurs v Chelsea Thursday, 8pm at Stamford Bridge

Tonight more than any other I felt we were between an Angeball and a hard place. Either play with verve and dare to do, or abandon ship and go defensive/on the break. This was the biggest example yet of the psychology being wrong and thus leaving us not really doing anything well. I cannot...

OMT: Spurs v Chelsea Thursday, 8pm at Stamford Bridge

Not read any of the comments in the thread yet... ...what a shallow, soft, guileless and flat effort. Really poor. As for the hand-cupping to ear gesture, so stupid. I have sympathy for him, especially when one on one abusers kick off, but you cannot be doing that and then try and say you...

Contingency planning : When Ange is sacked, who should replace him?

I don't disagree at all, however something in my own DNA tells me that 'miserable pricking' it with negative assumptions is not a healthy way for me to follow this football club. Until we're knocked out, we're in, and in with a chance to win.

Against Brentford on Sept 21st (3-1) he made his first sub a little earlier on 63 mins. Against West Ham on Oct 19th (4-1) he made his first sub on 70 mins. Most of...

    Ange in or out?

Yes indeed, I'm sure you've picked your way through my hefty posts on that precise angle of it all. Where I differ is that I genuinely don't think everyone felt the pain of that defeat in the same sense, and it is why when we sacked Poch I remember reliving what I said at the Wanda when that pen...
