    Ingerlund

I agree - he's an excellent right winger. I'd love to see Sterling-Lallana-Walcott behind Kane, but that's not going to happen with Rooney as captain. The four are so interchangeable that it would be a joy to watch.

    Ingerlund

Anyone else find it utterly galling that we've got Hodgson managing the most talented group we've seen for a long time? And yes, I'm aware his qualification record is excellent.

Are Belgium players over rated ?

Oh, I see. Apologies. That is a fair point - although I can't comment on the quality of alternative options. Personally, I think Vertonghen is a very poor player, and any team with any real aspirations wouldn't want him in the core of their side.

Are Belgium players over rated ?

    That's a similarity, no? :)

Are Belgium players over rated ?

Wait, what? You're both saying that Kompany isn't as good as Vertonghen? And, Spurs7891, you're saying that Courtois and Benteke wouldn't improve us due to their inconsistency? Benteke has scored 42 goals in 88 League games. This is madness. Madness.

Are Belgium players over rated ?

I think the squad has some excellent players - it's just a shame we have a lot of the average ones. Vertonghen and Alderweireld aren't good enough to start in central defence for Belgium and play as full-backs - and I can't imagine Chadli and Dembele starting. If we had Courtois, Kompany...

    The post transfer window discussion

Lugash submitted a new blog post Those who do not know history's mistakes are doomed to repeat them Following the close of the transfer window, the general consensus amongst Spurs fans is that the club has, as ever, fallen short. The criticism reads that the Chairman has failed to back the...

No, not at all. That'll be great, thanks.

    The post transfer window discussion

Here is a little piece I wrote, if you'll excuse the self-indulgence. Those Who Do Not Know History's Mistakes Are Doomed To Repeat Them Following the close of the transfer window, the general consensus amongst Spurs fans is that the club has, as ever, fallen short. The criticism reads that...

Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

I think the difference is Adebayor has proven his quality for Spurs - and other Premier League teams. I also actually think he seems likeable. There was a reason he was voted by the other players as vice captain. Plus, there's nothing substantive to indicate he's done anything terrible...

Vs Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool

    I would probably suggest: --------------------------Lloris -----Clyne-----Alderweireld---Lovren-----Rose -----------------Can-----Milner/Henderon/Bentaleb -------Lallana---------------------Eriksen/Coutinho ----------------Benteke------Kane It is criminally short of pace/width. I don't...

Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

No - I'm suggesting that to the lay person, it's reasonable to think Adebayor has some sort of mental issue. Given that reasonable assumption, I don't think it's right that those screaming for him 'to get out our club' and calling him a "c*nt" - without due cause, in my opinion - don't take a...

Vs Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool

Think 'shambles' is a bit harsh. I'd say that Clyne (for Walker), Milner (for Mason or Lamela), Coutinho (for Chadli or Lamela) and Benteke (Kane dropping deep) would walk into our team. Pretty sure Henderson, Can and Lallana would be in with a shout too. And despite his appalling form, I'd...

Not exactly the greatest endorsement of sanity (although I 'appreciate' cultural relativism).

I think that's an unfortunate interpretation and disagree.

Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

Apologies if I've missed this being mentioned, but it seems to me very obvious that Adebayor has some sort of mental issue. The Facebook ramblings and general behaviour are not the actions of a sane man. Presumably those desperate for Adebayor to leave because of his perceived lack of...

    Alexandre Pato - cake

As much as we, as fans, can look at commercial viability and risk etc, sometimes it's really worth remembering that football is about excitement and entertainment - and I think he'd bring that. I would love this signing.

    Danny Rose

I'm on the fence with Rose when it comes to England. His main strengths are his physicality and athleticism - he's all about pace, power and 'blood and guts' - and he was excellent last year. Whilst his defensive game has improved, I can understand the reluctance to put him in the England...
