'entirely peaceful, despite the looting' - so maybe it was peaceful looting?

Also anecdotal, but I know that not all employees share your outlook.

    Coronavirus

I think it's as much about social management of the situation now as it is about science. The lockdown was coming apart, I don't think the government had much viable choice but to relax it down. Agree that a lack of toughness earlier on probably contributed to the situation.

Cheers - I know I'm not going too far wrong when the biggest extremist on the board chirps up against me.

    Black Lives Matter

Just seen a social media post from someone who attended a protest on the west coast of America last night. The post states that the event had been entirely peaceful, with the exception of some looting that occurred. I honestly have no idea what to make of that.

Is actual, immediate rioting a prerequisite for her words to be considered objectionable, then? Say what you like, as long no one actually riots? More than one poster, besides myself has called her irresponsible over this, and no one that I've seen has seriously disagreed or taken any real...

I pointed out two of the 'bigger deals' with her actions further up this page, but it seems you missed it in your rush to write yet another trolling post.

    You are a troll.

Not to mention the sheer, unbelievable irresponsibility in terms of the potential for inciting similar scenes here, both for covid-related concerns and more generally.

You might have missed Diane Abbott's rather unhelpful intervention via twitter yesterday. I wonder if she was aware of the planned gathering in London before she chirped up?

    Black Lives Matter

I'll take your word for it - I'd never heard of either of them until a few minutes ago. As for the rest of your post, I think you misunderstood me if you felt I was giving a general endorsement of Trump's leadership.

    Black Lives Matter

I must admit I haven't been keeping score, but I don't think I've seen that. I'm pretty sure everyone I've heard, right up to Trump has expressed something akin to disgust at the footage of the incident. Which is as it should be. The two things are hardly mutually exclusive.

Appallingly irresponsible. Actually, let me rephrase that: fudging disgusting.

Bang on. But everyone who doesn't like the sound of it will just continue to look away... Remember when QE and ultra low interest rates were talked of as being emergency, temporary measures? What happened to that?

    Black Lives Matter

To be honest, and without intending to sound in any way condescending I suspected that, because your original objection to the tweet seemed to be with its face-value signalling of harsh action, rather than any perceived racial undercurrent to it. I think it's entirely possible he's used the...
