First 45 you had one or two shots and never looked like scoring, it was more than comfortable until Shelvey decided to be that taco that he is.

Just back at my old man's house after a few beers in town post game (I don't live here anymore and heading back south again tomorrow). Game ruined by the idiot that it Jonjo Shlevey, we were comfortable at 11v11. 11 v 10 your quality shone through. Kane should have been sent off for his horror...

It makes sense when you are up against once of the best tacticians in world football.

If Rafa gets his way this week we might have another Perez.

I suspect we will line up as follows. Gayle is doubtful hence De Jong in brackets. Elliot Manquillo Lejeune Clark Dummett Shlevey Hayden Ritchie......................Atsu Perez (De Jong) Gayle (Perez)

There is no such thing as the Sports Direct Arena, so not sure what the OP is on about.

    Moussa Sissoko

He's had loads and loads injuries and just lost the plot basically. Very strange, but basically just lost it. Training with the development squad. Hasn't been fit for a full season for about 4 years and it has caught up with him. Shame, good bloke and great 'keeper before his problems.

    Moussa Sissoko

Yes and yes. Very hard working so fits in the Rafa system perfectly and also has an eye for a pass and cross. Is on free kicks and pens as well so yes, good FF player.

    Moussa Sissoko

You are on another level to where we'll be this season, it will take a good 3 or 4 years of Rafa and solid investment to get to that end of the table but I look from 8th - 9th down (below the Everton, Southampton, West Ham type group) and see very little quality. I think 12-15th will be us this...

    Moussa Sissoko

He'll get a similar reception to that of say when Jenas came back. Abuse and booed every time he touches the ball but it's nothing new.

    Moussa Sissoko

No, and there is no doubt we need more quality signings in the next few weeks. But we don't want selfish people, only interested in themselves. We are a team now, with a proper structure and culture all moving in the same direction. So no, wouldn't want Sissoko back.

    Moussa Sissoko

Uninformed nonsense. He'll get a brick loads of abuse and probably a similar reception to Michael Owen but you get the reasons all wrong.

    Moussa Sissoko

Wouldn't want him, or his ilk, anywhere near the club.

Own goal a week today please bonny lad.

    Mateo Kovacic

Tom Ciarney was brilliant last season, a real stand out. But Fulham want £25M+ (we had £20M rejected last January) and at his age, he isn't worth that, even in this crazy market.

    Mateo Kovacic

A player that Rafa mentored and gave his debut and has a very good and close relationship, where they are still in regular contact is a very different ball game. Kovacic positively adores Rafa and has been quite open about it. Still can't see it happening. But this is the type of signing you...

    Fixture & Ticket News 2017/18

Not that it's any consolation but we haven't had our season tickets yet! Game is, of course, a sell out. It sold out in minutes.

    Mateo Kovacic

We are being linked with him a lot. Him and Rafa are very close. Pie in the sky in my opinion.

The Official 2017/18 Premier League Thread

I'm sure you will all agree, the real stuff doesn't start until Sunday, at St. James' Park. The finest football ground in the United Kingdom (all round package, city centre location, available drinking establishments, away fans not banned from pubs).
