Can you find me the quote? Because last I saw, they'd only just been handed the evidence from GMP.

Have HMRC ended their investigation? Last I heard was the GMP passed over their findings as it was HMRC's domain and not theirs.

It's not schools that are the problem, it's parents. Ask anyone with any experience in education and the overwhelming response will be that. I'm all for anything that gets the kids out of their ankle-tagged parents' sphere of influence for a while.

Students never voted Tory - not even at the proper universities. Unis don't create conservative voters now because those earning degrees aren't ending up in good jobs and continue to be net recipients from society.

Except it doesn't work and doesn't stand up to the tiniest bit of scrutiny. The vast majority of national debt isn't owed to other countries and is rarely circular like that. It's all at different interest rates, different yields, etc. Even if national debt weren't mostly privately owned, it...

The idea that national debt is made up of debt to other countries and that it's all a zero sum that can be cancelled out is a myth invented by swivel-eyed lefties that have no idea how economies work. Far more wishful thinking than, well, thinking. Most national debt is in bonds to investors...

Partly, yes. You too, and in all likelihood, most of the rest of us here. Wiping out that debt would leave some fairly large holes in the economy and make it impossible for governments to ever issue bonds again.

Partey missed a lot of the season. But cheeky to count it as an injury though.

Don't forget that if they've had 3 kids in such quick succession they're clearly poor at both decision making and learning lessons too.

It's clear what's coming down the line. Labour tinkled all the money away trying to buy votes. Then there was a global recession. Just as we were about to start recovering, Sunak shut the entire country down and tinkled away all the money we didn't have because Labour already spent it. Taxes...

Why's that a fudged situation? As much as trains are brick, it shows an impressive state of air transport too.

Nobody wants to win this election. Sunak spunked the next 4 generations' tax receipts up the wall during COVID and has enough sense to realise that it can't be clawed back without drastic cuts to public spending. Nobody should want to be in charge for the next decade trying to fix that.

Of course not - theirs is topped up by gigantic oil/gas reserves that could challenge the Middle East if they chose.

This is pretty much what he seems to be to me too. If you want someone who can take you from nowhere to nearly rans, he's your man. But if you want that final push over the line to actually win stuff - he's not the guy to do it.

Very true, but with what limited ability they have, I'd rather see them do something that actually means something. Messing around with the Lords isn't going to change anything. I'm still not sure what problem there is that needs fixing. It essentially has no power other than to delay anyway.
