Nah, just expectations of improvement and ways of working from a football perspective. Such things that befit a club which has increased its revenue streams AND has more loftier football ambitions than what they used to have before when the stadium and the associated revenue streams were smaller

It's around a few things: 1) a higher proportion of our targets coming in earlier so manager has more time to integrate them into the team and training regimes etc 2) every consecutive summer with the same manger having slightly less to plug and higher quality players targeted, e.g. this summer...

Having Davies as second LCB, unless Ange was planning to change how we play our high line and inversion tactics, is sheer suicide once an injury happens to Udogie or he needs a rest etc. Chalk and cheese as players. We may well have gone for that player, but we didn't and again, why wait until...

I appreciate that no window can be 100%, but i've been watching how we operate and how our transfer windows turn out for years and i barely see any changes since all this extra money has been coming in. We rebuilt the stadium to change how we operated, or so we were told...

Well look at the three summers; that Richarlison (i.e. summer 2022) was very stimulating in that we seemed to buy players every other week. In the end there wasn't really anyone bought that was really someone to relegate any of the starters to the bench immediately. It was mostly good squad...

There is still work to be done, but according to the profitability tables, we have much more resources than the 2000s and 2010s to get back to being 'close' and so we can make those same steps we did back then in quicker time, i.e. by spending more to close more of the gaps in the squad much...

We will have to wait and see about the DM point, it might certainly be the case that he doesn't believe one (yikes!). I have to say i can't believe Ange wants to play the way he does and doesn't know how reliant on a LCB that can come in for MVDV when injured/suspended he is. Davies is too far...

We still went for him according to reports so i'm not sure it was to do with the hamstrings. If his hamstrings were an issue you'd not waste time attempting to buy him in the first place

You've seen the profitability table posted on a previous page right? At what point are we going to stop blaming 'lack of funds'? When does this stadium turn the taps on? When do we stop hearing that we couldn't buy the likes of Neto because Chelsea were in for him? Or can we still not compete...

Was this summer any different to last summer in the end though? Last summer you start off with basics: i.e. the players and positions that were needed regardless of who is in charge: Kane was leaving so a new number 9 was needed (deferred until this summer); we also knew we wanted rid of at...

We've seen it all before though. When we are very close and need that one or two special player, the club reverts to what we saw last summer anyway. When we need to broaden the squad and buy young with resale value we always opt for that no matter what. From a business perspective, that is very...

This last summer was their chance to at least look like that was their plan. Instead it felt a bit deja-vu and much like the transfer window of summer 2004: looks of promising players that make sense in building a squad for long-term 'sustainability' but did not look like one where the aim was...

Cann we make the top 4 or 5?

The problem is that, apart from Villa, we show little ability to be able to win those games against those who would believe are our competition for the top positions. We barely win against teams in the top half now. Which wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if we won all the other games...

Cann we make the top 4 or 5?

I'd say since February this year, but if you take a long view, maybe things haven't changed much since the Chelsea game last November. But i'll stick to February because that's where all the excuses about injuries/missing personnel relatively dry up for me. We barely finished above Chelsea due...

    Doctor Tottenham..

The Doctor will see you now :) Now we have some, erm, time to stew over the current topsy-turvy league season, it might be a good time to explore those demons we know that are represented by the Good Doctor. This isn't for all and certainly not for the faint-hearted. But it might be good...

Cann we make the top 4 or 5?

Trouble is this has been the patter for a long time; i'd say it's not inconsistency any more and the gap is likely to widen. Our only hope imo is for more injuries, negativity to break out in those above us because we don't seem like we are changing much anytime soon...
