*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool FC ***

Either he doesn’t want to move forwards, or is under instruction to check back and play the ball back so we can faff about with playing the ball around so Pool can set their defense and we can totally fail to penetrate.

*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool FC ***

I love Ange, but I’m hating this end of the season slump. Two years in a row I’d love the season to be over.

Take a look, mate. Royal has his eyes fixed firmly on the ball and he is not scanning the box at all.

The Bissouma School of Defending™️. Surely there is another defender who can be on the pitch to play the left side other than Royal.

The Bigger Picture - aka we've been here before

The Bigger Picture - aka we've been here before

That might explain why this past chunk of games has seen us looking so out of sorts. I'd wager too that long gaps between games and the ever-changing midfield line up doesn't help either,

The Bigger Picture - aka we've been here before

My HOPE (oh no!!!) is that Ange applies the same metric to his role at the club as he does to his players and staff. Specifically that there is always room to learn from mistakes and success, to evolve and to grow. If he can do that, he could be successful here. Pep has consistently shown a...

The Bigger Picture - aka we've been here before

As this season crumbles away in a series of heavy defeats, weak performances and set piece goals conceded, the bigger picture looms for me. And yes, we have been here before. Too often. And once again we need the manager to be supported by the club in terms of players in and out. Should Ange...

    Ange’s system / formation

Lots of people do that. And lots of them don’t understand the nuances of the game they see, nor the longer term process at hand. And then they go and moan about it in a pub.

    Ange’s system / formation

Football fans in a pub. Please don’t expect rational, balanced and educated opinions on football from that environment. ESPECIALLY a Chelsea pub.

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I agree with all these points. I also think that the massive breaks between games has not helped. Players need to play regularly to not only get a rhythm, but also to have proper situation react to. And Ange should not be immune to criticism. I hope he reflects on this season - his first in...

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

That’s my point. You stop giving away cheap goals by nullifying an oppo strategy - and that means making it ineffective.

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Fair enough to not want to care about it being done by our players, but he kind of has to care about the oppo doing it to us. It has to be nullified.

    Ange’s system / formation

Based on history, if Ange doesn’t get the players he wants he will leave.

Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

    VAR: Sponsored by Chelsea

I would suggest scrapping the ‘clear and obvious error’ part. That’s another layer of human interpretation. If it’s an error by the ref, like the trip on Deki v Arse, it’s an error. VAR should intervene and at the least make the ref go to the monitor.
