Yep, but bear in mind it wasn't MPs that voted in Corbyn and not Cooper, it was the grass roots members. Those 'tankies and teenyboppers' are or, very recently were, the Labour Party. I do agree with you on Cooper though, she is capable and, as stated further in the thread, regularly shows up...

Reeves seems very good, despite as shadow chancellor supporting hs2 although I suspect this is a more constituency-based position rather than ideological. David Lammy is also OK if a little too prone to controversy for a top job. I've never really liked Yvette Cooper and she's been rejected by...

The biggest issue in politics we have had for the last decade is a complete lack of credible opposition. Regardless of the left/right political split, most folks sit in the centre. Some centre left, some centre right, but centre all the same. If there had been a good option across the house...

Good spot. Should we push for a discount perhaps? Or is there a premium as defending free kicks is easier - although some teams would still claim it was handball...

Hope Manyoo go for ten Hag and it goes all Frank de Boer as I have a nasty suspicion Poch will do a very good job there.

    Putin & Russia

Belarus appears to have so far escaped any rebuke and/or sanctions which, given their role in enabling the invasion of Ukraine, seems a bit strange. It would send a message that being on 'the wrong side' is not a great idea...

I think it means a lot - there is no way he'd have been involved if he hadn't been a prince. If anything, it enabled it.

Very. They made a big point during the campaign that they had the second biggest vote share in the last election and they should be challenging the Tories not the Lib Dems. Maybe the voters wanted to "protest vote" but still couldn't bring themselves to vote Labour.

Whilst I agree it is an absolute brickstorm for the government and utterly ridiculous to hold a party during lockdown, this for me is like the Barnard Castle nonsense. Just because someone is a bellend or breaks the rules, it doesn't give me the right or willingness to do the same. Masks are...

The letter was reasonable and read as "let's work together to sort this out". In retaliation the French revoked an invitation to talks. Seems a perfectly balanced and acceptable way to treat friends and neighbours, or maybe not...

    Dilan Markanday

There was a good article on him on inews a couple of days ago which I linked in the U23s thread, but will add here as there is now a dedicated thread! https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/dilan-markanday-tottenham-first-british-asian-player-indian-footballers-1293578

    Nuno Espírito Santo - Sacked

The only thing I can think was that Nuno's appointment was always supposed to be a soft landing step up from the brick show that was Mourinho before the next chap built on it, but it hasn't worked out.
