***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Kings Road WAN KERS - Sat, 5.30pm, Stamford S**thole***

Don't get the criticism of him to be honest. We are never going to be a team of perfect technicians and we need someone like him who gets around the pitch and does some of the dirty stuff, and he is more than capable of scoring a goal as he's proven....
I really like him, no he's not going to ping great balls around but he works so hard, closes down so much space for the opposition, I think he's going to be really important for us.

I think for me the most gratifying element of the performance is that we continue to gel as a unit which wants to fight and win for each other using courage and bravery on the ball. There is a deep sense of trust building within the group, and playing the sort of 'receive under pressure' game we like to play in order to draw people into traps requires a lot of belief. I was particularly happy that after the first we did not retreat, and after the second, we fought for that clean sheet. Now I think we'll see the full benefit of Robertson, who will have seen this type of growth in his time at LFC, and can bring yhat experience and knowledge to the dressing room.

We were still fully scrapping to win back the ball in the 94th minute while 0-2 up against 10 men. Brilliant to see.

Wouldn’t be surprised if his stats show that he ran more in his time on pitch last night than a couple who were on for the whole game.

The joy of being at a 50-year wedding anniversary party and shouting when Tel scores out "come on you beauty...... 50 incredible years".... And then your mate shouts out "I take it Tottenham scored". That's how happy I was.... You fcuking beauties. After the first half I was worried we wasted our chances but damn.... That was a great performance.

And to top it off....that poo stain Rodgers lost!

Rogers should have been sent off. Rogers made no attempt to get the ball and just kicked the player.

I missed the game due to a family commitment and only watched the 11 minute BBC highlight reel about half eleven last night. I don't know if it was the BBC editing but it looked a lot more like Chelsea played well and we rode our luck. Different from what I am reading on here now!

Chelsea only won high turnovers and mostly from our errors. But we dominated possession, controlled the match. You look at what Chelsea supporters are saying and, from what I’ve seen, most credit us as the better team and say Chelsea played poorly.

A lot of our good play was in the middle of the pitch where we dominated and played through and around Chelsea with ease, it didn't result in too many chances though and we gifted Chelsea a few through sloppy passing. We were comfortably the better side but probably not in a way that translates to highlights

Edit : would actually encourage you
to find the full match replay to see how strong we were on the ball

In my opinion was the most comfortable I've felt watching us play at the Bridge in years, and that's because we dominated the midfield as we have done in previous games.

Some have suggested we had our 'pants pulled down' over the signings of Tonali and Fernandes and I've never agreed with that at all. They just need games in a new side, and are both class and better than most central midfields in the league. It's the front 3(mainly CF) we really need to look at now, then I think we are a serious unit....

First 15 minutes they pressed us high and we struggled to get out. After that we controlled the game mostly. Caicedo played well for them I thought, but we were better in every position.

There will be a rewriting in some corners that we beat a poor Chelsea, but we made them look that way

I agree overall but I was also bricking myself at the thought of their sucker punch. It’s just wired into us at Stamford Bridge. When the ref bottled the first Palmer decision, I was sure he’d pop up with the winner. But this looks a different Spurs team that is being built.

I was baffled by the BBC highlights! Really weird editing by the BBC! Just look at the stats! We had almost 70% posession, and 15 to 7 in shots. We dominated them for the majority of the game, and they only threatened when we gifted them opportunities.

It was billed as the big match of the weekend in the build up, yet it was the second game on, the BBC website has pumped out wafer thin articles to bump the report down list and the report is so one sided even Chelsea fans are calling it out.
Can help but think the result and performance upset some ore written narratives.

I think only striker and review goalkeeper is what’s needed.

I really thought we would lose our focus after the triple yellow card incident. It's never done any favours in the past when tempers flared but this time, it didn't affect us much. We kept on doing what we were doing so well. We're still lacking some cutting edge upfront but our midfield play really is top class.

Another important aspect is that, strikers excluded, we now have different options in a lot of positions. It's too early to get carried away, but it's clear that we're onto something.
