***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Nott'm Forest, Sat Sept 5th, City Ground, 3pm***

Notts is the abbreviation for NOTTinghamShire - the county name. There's no such place as Nottinghamshire Forest, so "Notts Forest" makes no sense. It's called Nottingham Forest, and the abbreviation for Nottingham is Nottm, hence "Nottm Forest". Both the county and the forest take their name from the town. It's really not that difficult, but the confusion obviously arises because of the existence of that other, older club, Notts County. The clue there is in the name.

Scoring a goal Saturday would be nice. Not losing would be even nicer. A win would be lovely. The stand-out worst start to a campaign in the club's history is still season 74-75, when we lost the first four (and the first three without scoring - stats were P4 W0 D0 L4 F1 A5 Pt0). That record's there to be broken, and I'd never underestimate Spurs' ability to find new and innovative ways of turning us into a laughing stock....

Let's not go there.

Edit: we didn't meet Forest in the league in 74-75, but we did lose 2-1 on aggregate to them in the 3rd round of the FA Cup :(

I hate Nottingham Forest.

I hate their nickname of Tricky Trees, it’s so cringe.

I hate Marinakis after his BS with MGW deal last season.

I hate how we lost 3-0 to them twice last season.

I hate that they think they’re a bigger club than us.

So we will go there and win! And win 3-1. We will concede to MGW of course. 🙄

I dislike the term "must win game" but feel this is certainly a "must not lose game". De Zebri will be under immense pressure from fans and media the longer he goes without a league win. I thought we looked good in first half last week but until we start scoring playing well will count for nothing.
I did not expect an immediate success this season particularly after World Cup and massive playing staff changes had made preparations for season difficult. I've been on holiday and have only seen Saudi Sportswashing Machine game on TV but it seems to me no team who had many players at WC have looked ready at present, I'm probably wrong.

Quite an important one. We need to change the narrative. Most of the tired hacks will have fired up ChatGPT already and have their copy ready, with a few blanks to fill in. I was surprised with the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game. You could see the quick movement, quick passing that demonstrated that things were starting to happen on the training ground. It takes a while for players to gel. There are a lot of talented ball players now and if they can gain some familiarity and consistency, there will be goals and improvements at the back. RDZ just needs to get Paul McKenna or Mystic Meg in to hypnotise Porro into thinking he is still at the World Cup. Bit of pace and intent down the flanks. Whammy.

I don’t think Kudus starts having only played about 25 minutes since January, if Savio isn’t fit to start I’d put Tel on the right, rest of this team and shape is based around the bat brick crazy notion of round pegs in round holes.

………………………Kinsky………………………
Porro…………..vH…………vdV…………..Udogie
……………………...Fernandes……………………
…………….Bergvall……………..Tonali……………
Savio……………………………………….Marmoush
……………………..Solanke………………………….

Team I fear will be picked is Fernandes in the #10 and if Savio can’t start Porro at rw again.

I think we should have a fluid midfield three of Bentancur, Fernandes and Tonali. Don’t assign any as the #10 but instead allow a controlled level of freedom to roam.

I think that would encourage better interplay with the focus on getting the ball forward to the attacking players as quickly as possible.

What others do we have? I did say Kulu instead of Tosin if he's ready. Don't think Madders is fit.

I suppose it also depends what happens between now, the Turkish transfer deadline tomorrow and the match itself.

Is Richi going to be part of this setup until January or not?

I’d like to see our expensive midfield pairing work as a midfield pairing. Might not work, but still want to see it.

Kinks
Porro/VH/VDV/Dogs
Tonali/Fernandes
Marmoush
Savio/Solanke/Tel
