unidentified player admits that key players did not agree (or submit) to TF's ways
Wow, who could ever have predicted the players wouldn't care for Thomas Frank after Ange?
unidentified player admits that key players did not agree (or submit) to TF's ways
we might not have any options but to play them next season if the worst happens. good to see you backWe don’t know until we try them
That’s the key
And we don’t seem to we ever want to try them
The arrogance and lack of professionalism of these players is writ large in that piece as well, talking about "smaller teams" when they've won 4 home games in a calendar year, and "[knowing] they could get away with less" ... so (of course) giving less. Weak and lazy mentalities. The eye-test pt:95
I agree, however, you also don't throw a kid into the pressure of a relegation fight unless you really have no choice. It would be a brave manager to do that if we lose the game with internationals left out (and probably a sacked one)
The bit I find incredible is the players' lack of professionalism. It's a damning indictment of them and our club.

Especially if it was "club captain", RomeroThe bit I find incredible is the players' lack of professionalism. It's a damning indictment of them and our club.
100% Steff. Regardless of what I feel about the ownership and some of our players, that can wait until the end of the season. For the games I get to, I'll be absolutely behind the team and, based on Sunday, I think the crowd will to. We can only do so much though, these players really have to pull the finger out.Well folks, suspend your disgust for the next 11 games because it is this group which stands between the drop and not!
Remember that footballers are just human beings who are just coming into work and doing their job.The arrogance and lack of professionalism of these players is writ large in that piece as well, talking about "smaller teams" when they've won 4 home games in a calendar year, and "[knowing] they could get away with less" ... so (of course) giving less. Four home wins in a calendar year. This is not something that started with Frank.Remember that footballers are just human beings who are just coming into work and doing their job.
In any work situation there will be some people who are all in no matter what and others that need to be motivated. The leadership of any group is extremely important. When a group of people are not inspired by their leader then the standard of the work that group does will suffer. When some members of a group drop their standards and that is tolerated by the leader then it generally leads to others in the group also dropping their standards.
I think this group certainly lacks a real leader from within the group, A Harry Kane type that the whole group can only look up to and a person that would ensure that general standards do not slip. However, if the team had had a manager they were inspired by, believed in and wanted to do the best for, then having that sort of player in the group becomes less important. Clearly the group this season had neither a leader from within or an appointed leader (i.e. the manager) that they look up to and are inspired by. That is what leads to standards slipping and then getting gradually worse and worse.
Yep, no option now. If the booing starts again, every episode of it will be a nail in the club's Premier League coffin.Well folks, suspend your disgust for the next 11 games because it is this group which stands between the drop and not!
It wasn't I agree.... but we did get to a point last season where we put all of our eggs in the Europa League basket and that was a sensible decision because the upside was massive and the downside was tiny (we were never in any potential relegation bother).Four home wins in a calendar year. This is not something that started with Frank.
I've heard all the Europa stuff time and again and I remain unmoved by it. I watched the games, and frankly, I'd have been more impressed if they'd won a goldfish at a fair in the Big Rec. We're not going to agree on that, though, so it's pointless arguing. It wasn't I agree.... but we did get to a point last season where we put all of our eggs in the Europa League basket and that was a sensible decision because the upside was massive and the downside was tiny (we were never in any potential relegation bother).
I saw things under Ange that at least suggested the players had some sort of clue what they were supposed to be doing. I didn't see anything from Thomas Frank's Spurs that suggested the players knew what they were supposed to be doing, or perhaps they knew but didn't believe in it and/or couldn't be bothered to do it - any one (or perhaps more than one?) of the three reasons for this are incredibly damning on Thomas Frank's management.

edit: I was wondering how much being in the CL as a result of the glorious Europa win has affected our form this season and it hasn't actually been that bad so far. We picked up 10 points out of a possible 24 in league games following CL ties, which is a success rate of nearly 42%, whereas our season-long average is only about 36%.

Ain't no little thing winning one of them goldfish Tom, the sights on the air rifles are always off.If it was a simple as a goldfish at the fair, it’s a wonder we haven’t got more of them eh

I cannot fathom professional footballers turning up late, much less so after an embarrassing defeat to your biggest rivals and after taking a gonading from the manager for that defeat. For players to admit that they trained less intensely for Frank than Ange because they knew they'd get away with it is mind boggling. It's not a great look for Frank but it says much about our players that they don't have that fundamental professionalism especially as that's exactly what's needed in a relegation fight. We don't scrap for our lives in the next 11 games and we will go down - this video suggests we don't have the mentality for it.
It's also damning on our club. This has run through us for decades. You listen to some of the stories about Gazza under Venables. They're funny but have no place in a professional club and I've heard players who were there at the time say similar. You listen to Paul Walsh and he thought we were a very poorly run club. Les Ferdinand, a Tottenham fan, was shocked at what he walked into. The 90s were a joke. You listen to Teddy and Anderton talking about how they were treated by the medical staff. You listen to Conte and Ange. It goes on and on. Tottenham seems to be where you go for an easy ride in the big city. It's not where you go to be professional and win things. The ethos and culture running through the club is disgusting.
I've always tried to give the players the benefit of the doubt and assumed they were good pros. The noises suggest they aren't and they are the only ones who can dig us out of this mess.
Igor, my friend, you've a hell of a job on your hands.
I’d generally agree with you but The Athletic are a pretty good source. Was listening to one of their writers in the week and he was saying that they’ll have at least two sources if not three before they put something like this out there.I generally have little faith in these vidios after all they ARE made to make money for those that make them so i take a pinch of salt in what agendas they are trying to push[ and usually what they are doing].
All this brick about some player said this that and the other is generally fabricated to get as many hits as they can. Saying that we are in a mess and its obvious we need to pull out of it. Saying some player/coach etc has said this or that and pushing it as truth is foolish at best and agenda driven at the worst.
Of course no true supporter is happy at what is going on but being lead by some one who is trying to make a name for themselves along with the money it brings in is a IMO a sad state of affairs.
