Well call me entitled but I don't think our captain on the night should be marching down the tunnel without acknowledging the fans.

Edit to add that I wasn't booing. I was actually clapping (somewhat half-heartedly I admit) the players, as I always do and will continue to do. I don't believe any of them were happy with the performance.

its a very broad observation and its not wrong, but it fails to pin point the root cause. for instance are bentancur and palhinha too defensive? do they have the ability to turn ball recovery into attack? if not who does? is there a structure for Xavi to operate in? Like Kudus, he is often isolated and does not get adequate help or options in front of him.

as of now, TF is under a lot of unnecessary pressure because xavi and muani are not 100% fit or ready. but he does himself no favours by emphasizing on mid-block pressure tactics without quick outlets, preferring to go backwards and try to attack a settled defence. that said both xavi and muani can be keys to TF's success in midfield but perhaps he needs to trade off chasing the ball vs intercepting the ball in midfield to preserve some semblance of structure so that attacks can be drilled on the training ground.

personally i think gray needs to come into TF's reckoning because he provides something extra - vision and passing range - that sarr, xavi, bergvall, bentancur and palhinha do not have.

I think the root cause is that Frank chooses to set us up in the shape that he does. It’s very deliberate in the first phase of play.

Sounds about right considering we've lost 5 consecutive matches against Chavski plus they've taken all 3 points from 6 of their 7 visits to our new stadium.

I think this is worth emphasising. Often when a team loses, the players get pelters for not trying, showing no passion and not playing for the shirt. I did not see that last night.

We were completely dingdonged tactically. They pressed the life out of us and we couldn’t get up the pitch for a number of reasons. The reason we didn’t lose 3 or 4 was bad finishing by Chelsea and a lot of effort from our players IMO.

VdV and Spence walking off, clearly tinkled, shows me they, and the other players, care.

Does anyone remember when you could watch a game and say "they would never score if they played to next week"? It was a far simpler game when you could rely on your own eyesight rather than some computer to tell you what to think.
 
Do you remember the days we would always be a threat at home? When ever anyone came to the lane we would be confident of a win? The only games we lost were ones where teams sat back, soaked up the pressure and hit us on the break? We would still have 20+ attempts but it just wasn’t our day but you came home thinking how did we lose that?

Oh how times have changed.

We now have an inferior home record to West Ham’s at the Olympic Stadium over the past 12 months 😳

Won 5 Draws 4 Lost 10
For 20 Against 37 Points 19

Vs our record at WHL of:

Won 3 Drawn 4 Lost 12
For 26 Against 36 Points 13

The only teams we’ve beaten at WHL in the last 19 have been Southampton, ManUre and Burnley with the other 4 points coming from draws with Fulham and Bournemouth plus 2 with Wolves.

Not so much a fortress as a gift shop.

To be fair, we do have the biggest gift shop in Europe. Maybe we should close it on match days.
 
You know I look at Bournemouth now and their recruitment is sooo much better than ours…so many options they might be losing right now but they look like a team. Our recruitment over the last 5 years is seriously questionable

Is it really? List all the transfers and compare, please. Or are you, like I think, only comparing the good transfers Bournemouth have made, and comparing them with the ones who hasn't worked out for us, because that's what it often boils down to with statements like that.

Richarlison was our best player in the latter part of last season and in the beginning of this season. Johnson was last seasons top scorer. Xavi has been here 2 months and Kudus has been very good so far.
What's your point? Those are "failed" transfers? Then show what Bournemouths failed transfers have done.
