Putin & Russia

China are very much involved in war - they literally came out the other day and said they can't afford Russia to lose the war in Ukraine. What do you think that means?

All major countries are very much invested in wars one way or another. Not a pop at you but I can't stand all this country x is better than country y nonsense, they are all as bad as each other all motivated by money and ego at whatever the cost.....
They also made it clear they want Taiwan back they will use force if necessary there words not mine.

I don’t agree. Different nations have different warmongering biases. Just because a nation is the ‘other’ doesn’t mean they are the ones inciting wars, selling arms and killing thousands. Rather than looking at China we should focus on ourselves in this one.

I’d wager that Chinas belt and road is less damaging than the IMFs decades of work. Idk for sure but having looked at case studies on the IMFs work keeping developing nations under the yoke, it can’t be much worse!

As for China wanting a base on Fiji I should imagine it wouldn’t be bothered were it not for similar US bases right in its back yard. Do you see China setting up bases in Mexico?
How is Fiji China’s backyard?

Another one bites the dust

The disruption of flights by drones continues apace too. Bravo!

Not a surprise that talks now progressing between Putin and Trump after last of Ukrainian troops ejected from Russian territory. We have seen that Trump is very transactional in these situations (I.e. what can you bring to the table?) The yanks likely view this now as doing a deal with Russia and imposing the terms on Ukraine. Ukraine needed to hold on to the territory in Kursk etc to be at the table. Something they probably anticipated with a Trump presidency looming and which explained the gambit in the end....

Can’t help but feel the incursions into NATO airspace are the unfolding of a strategy which plays far beyond Europe, and which involves actions which China will also take with Taiwan before too long.

Zero evidence that Trump has any intention of really doing anything about Russian aggression. He’s fully bought into the spheres of influence idea, imo.

Question 1: Why should the US do anything about Russian aggression that doesn't involve US interests?

Question 2: Should the US do something about any aggression by one country against another?

Question 3: Do you consider the US to be "Team America: World Police"?
