Funniest Sitcoms of All Time

Blackadder
The Young Ones
Only Fools and Horses
Phoenix Nights
Max & Paddy
Catterick
Fawlty Towers
Porridge
plus most of the others mentioned.
American-wise, Frasier and I also found My Name is Earl funny back in the day.

Seinfeld has to be in the conversation

It was before my time but I had heard rave reviews about it and watched all of S1 and half of S2

I think I felt that I would be blown away and it just seemed like any old regular sitcom to me. I didn't laugh out loud once.

I have been told it gets better after that but I just lost interest. 🤣

People have different senses of humour though.

Like South park. How on earth anyone finds that funny is beyond me. To me it is extremely childish - and given choice of wactching that or sitting in darkeness I'd choose the later. But people out there must love it for it to have gone on so long.

Give me OFAH any day of the weak

My Name is Earl is a good shout. I was about 12 when it came out and watched every epiosde.

I have tried to watch since and it does get stale and repetiive after a while.

The concept is fantastic but also obviously very rigid.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (I believe it's also the longest running, for what it's worth).

My most underrated is coupling, fantastic show that was genuinely hilarious, brilliantly crafted.

No mention of arrested development so far is absurd as well.

Is Seinfeld actually funny? Like Friends it just seems like biege stodge to put on in the background but each to their own.

I think the UK office is a work of art, but I'm not sure it's the "funniest". Not into the US version at all but many people are, so what do I know..

I was wondering if anyone had mentioned It's Always Sunny yet..

Another one I cannot take any humour from personally. An ex used to watch it all the time and I never laughed once at it. I also found the stupid bell noise so annyong (I have mentioned this to dozens of people since and they don't realise the bell noise till I tell them but do after :tearsofjoy:)

I think my faves like Cheers, Phoenix Nights, Only Fools, Father Ted etc have been done. So many others over the decades

Benidorm
The Royle Family
Ted Lasso
Last of the Summer Wine
Yes Minister
Men Behaving Badly
The Good Life
Scrubs
The Office

More recent ones I've enjoyed

Brassic
The Young Offenders
Colin From Accounts

I think it's a show that you have to be in the right mood for. It's often literally 30 minutes of people yelling at each other, the beauty is that every character has no redeeming features, nobody ever makes any progress in life and Danny Devito is an absolute legend.

I think it's a great glimpse at how we would act without filter or self awareness; after some extensive personal research in to binge drinking in the name of science, the results showed that if you get blackout drunk whilst watching the show, the behaviour actually seems quite reasonable.
